Lagunitas Olde Gnarleywine. Not the best Barleywine but still very good, and it has a great QPR at $5 for a 22oz bottle.

Live Oak Hefe-Weizen. I needed it badly today.

New Belgium Black Lager. Had a good, slightly coffee taste to it but was light enough to go down smooth on a warm day. It's the first beer I had from New Belgium that I'd consider getting again.

Fun fact: in Fairfax county, Virginia, it is against the law for bars & restaurants to advertise their happy hour specials outside the walls of their establishments. Apparently, a bunch of anti-substance abuse scolds are suppressing the 1st amendment in support of some speciously grounded belief that they are preventing alcohol abuse. In other words, this place hasn't gotten much past the temperance movement logic that gave us Prohibition. What a load.

Just refilled my 5L oak barrel with a Sazerac mix: 4.5L of Bulleit Rye, 100 ml of Mephisto Absinthe, 1/2 cup of Peychaud's bitters and 1 cup of dark simple syrup. Will report back on results after it's aged for ~6 weeks or so.

I am finishing up a bottle of Angels Envy bourbon tonight. It's not my favorite. I find it lacking in several areas.

Yes, I have had it. That is their Barleywine, right? Recall it being good if you like the style.

Still in ATL, more Sweetwater 420, Allagash Curieux (really liked this one) and Grapefruit Sculpin.
