There's something highly ironic about the team pantomiming guns on the field, wearing fatigues, getting arrested at alarming rates, etc. acting like the victim and crying about their feelings being hurt by labels.

It's also ironic that we were all rooting for PSU to take them down in the Fiesta Bowl not knowing that Sandusky was stalking and JoPa was looking the other way.

Posted some of this in the prediction thread, but might belong here too.

Miami (VS opposite ND metric)

Total Offense - 61st (ND Tot Def - 50th)
Passing - 43rd (109th)
Rushing - 79th (30th)

Total Defense - 24th (ND Tot Off - 15th)
Passing - 13th (109th)
Rushing - 52nd (3rd)

Schedule Comments (31st SoS)
Crushed Bethune Cookman and Toledo at home, and Duke on the road.
Close ones on the road at FSU and NC. At home vs GT and Syracuse.
Handily beat VT at home.

Duke and Syracuse are better than their records, GT is always a challenge, and FSU is a rivalry game. Only bad game IMO was their win over NC. Best win was VT by far.

Miami has faced 2 top 25 passing O teams (Toledo and Syracuse)
Miami has faced 2 top 25 rushing O teams (GT and Toledo)
Miami has faced 3 top 25 passing D teams (FSU, VT, GT)
Miami has faced 2 top 25 rushing D teams (VT, GT)

Regardless of the above, they have not seen an OL like ours. Hoping our big uglies come ready for pancakes and roadkill.

Personnel
Not a lot of superstars, but good QB who distributes the ball well, and two solid RBs. No individuals in the top 25 (stats) on either side of the ball. D athletic but handles the pass far better than the run. O is much better passing, but RBs shouldn't be overlooked.

Hang fidy on 'em, make up dookie ropes with this pendant and hand them out to our guys as time expires, then team changes into camo fatigues for the flight home.

5) Win by 40 and Big Q goes and rips it off some pencil neck punk ala Talib ripping off Crabtree's chain. And the pencil neck can do nothing about it.

Anyone else envision this when you read Q-ripoff-pencil neck?...no, just me? Alrighty.

Did you hear what Q called the Turnover Chain?

Pick one:

1. Notre Dame wins by 24 but Wimbush throws an interception while it's still close so Miami does the turnover chain shtick.

2. Notre Dame wins by 10 and commits no turnovers so we never see the chain.

3. Notre Dame wins by 20 but Wimbush throws an interception in garbage time so Miami has to decide whether to do the turnover chain when they know they have no chance of winning.

No. 1 all day. I don't care if they get to play with a spirit award on their own sideline. 24 points is a beat down.

The only good extraneous football symbol that I know is the VT battered black lunchbox carried by the DLine onto the field. I wouldn't mind ND having something like that with #33truckingcompany written on it --- Mount McGlinchey and Q could alternate carrying it.

Anyone know when Demetrius Jackson (#31) got injured?

I'm rewatching their game and I don't think I've seen him in at all.

Alright, I went through an extreme bout of nervousness last night and this morning.

But then I watched highlights of some times teams gashed Miami up the middle this year, and switched gears. Started watching Marshawn Lynch interviews.

Josh Adams on Saturday night:

Run through a muh'fuka face, then you don't have to worry 'bout 'em no mo'

He has nothing on the stat line for the Vtech game but i never saw his name on the injury report until now showing him out for the year.

So i'm guessing either in practice heading into the game where it wasn't disclosed or he got hurt early against VT.

I'm lost on "dookie rope" and I don't want to Google it. It sounds like sausage links make of poop.

Watched the condensed game, last play that he was shown in the condensed game was at the 4:20 mark of the 2nd quarter.

The first play that I saw Jonathan Garvin (Jackson's replacement in the two deep) was at the :17 mark of the 2nd quarter.

I'm more nervous about this game than USC and it is entirely because the stakes have been raised as someone pointed out here or another thread. I feel very confident Notre Dame is the superior football team but the better team doesn't always win. This is the last real test of the season before the playoffs. I hate that it is a 8 o'clock kick off too. Hate it.

Biggest ND game since the title game really... maybe Stanford a few years ago? Tho we kind of all knew we weren't making it in anyway.

IMO, it's a terrific opportunity. We're going against an undefeated, ACC, Florida, team on prime time. The team will be in the ACC championship (assuming they don't lose both to Pitt and UVA. And it's probably the weakest team currently with legitimate playoff potential/aspirations (debatable if you include Wisconsin).

If we can't win this, we don't belong in the playoff conversation. Perfect opponent to bump our SoS, legitimize the ND playoff discussion, and keep us in the top 4 for at least another week.

All that said, I'm nervous as hell too. I'm not able to let go of the past so soon lol.

Big night games kill my nerves too.

Yeah I remain convinced that even if we win that game we wouldn't have made the playoffs anyways.

I just think we haven’t had a team like this in ages. This ND team would probably thump the 12’ team by two scores at minimum. It’s just hard to handle succes when you haven’t had any in awhile.

Best ND team in my adult life... they still have things to improve on though... ways to go.

Especially hard b/c this team is winning the way ND fans (most anyway) want to win. Running the ball and playing solid team defense. They play the right way - tough, clean, hustling every play through the whistle. The only time they have let their foot off of the gas the entire season was the last fifteen minutes or so against Wake, and after whipping USC's ass, beating NC State and blowing Wake out in the first half, it's forgivable. Even in the loss to Georgia, they played hard. Their will to win was evident - just came up a bit short. They are earning wins and imposing their will. I hope they do the same and completely blow the doors off of Miami.
