Saying IE platformed TP's career isn't correct. He was big before IE, and I don't think IE did much for him.

That was my understanding too. That he got started and then found his way to IE.

Wasn't there someone on IE who did TP's graphic designs though? Maybe that's what NDdomer2 is thinking...idk.

Good news, but was still expecting...a bit more. Left us with blue balls here.

Good for him. He seems like a good dude. Reminds me of one of the little fire buffs that hang around the firehouse and then finally get hired. He's passionate, that's for sure.

Sorry I'm out of the loop. But, what or maybe I should say who is TP working for now?

What could have been bigger news on IE's ND Talking Head thread besides nudes of Alex Flanigan?

Seriously BroPal?

so IE has officially platformed careers for TP and Vancouver now.

IE was the training ground for 247's Nick Ironside. He started here as a 12 or 13 year old ... on the original IE board. One of the "Oldtimers".

Unlike most teens looking at the future, Nick knew what he was going to do as an adult. He was focused on becoming a sports journalist. He actually covered a Blue & Gold game with official press credentials issued by ND. The only teenager ever issued ND press credentials. He was 14 or 15 at the time. I could be wrong but believe it was the game when Ara and Lou were honorary coaches. I gave him grief for not asking Lou at the post game presser why he wouldn't "THROW IT TO THE TIGHT END!"

Nick was an active IE poster through HS and college while he was doing free lance work. He flew to California as a teenager for an in depth interview with Joey Getherall and his family. When he became a working stiff he became less active on IE out of necessity. We still exchange an occasional PM or email. It's been enjoyable watching his career develop in real time.

.

That makes too much sense. He is the only person I've ever unfollowed on Twitter. His progressive retweets and likes were way out of place for a football analyst and completely unprofessional while using a 247 Twitter handle. I'm surprised Shannon Terry didn't tell him to keep his politics out of his workplace or hit the bricks.

So did we know a month ago that Vancouver was going to run the naked mile with spiderman memes and waffles?

Couldn't have been too big. He was posting on here long before his website and weekly videos started going up.

Please don't compare TP to Vancouver. Not in the same category. Not even close.

If that really is Vancouver, then he definitely has found his calling.

He has one of the brightest outlooks on ND football you can find, so who better to place in the recruiting staff.

I'm sad I never passed my sig over to him. He was more the site assigned optimist than I ever was.

TP is dead. Don't worry about it.

That's pretty awesome. Had no idea.

lol at that statement, which leads me to believe you know nothing about TP but that's fine.

Congrats Couver, it's crazy to me when you started on this board and where a little over the top with your postings. Talking about how you are sharing recruiting info with your wife and getting upset when kids picked other schools. You have come a long way in the last three months or so working your ass off. You're gonna be good at what you do, all I ask is that you put the NDf fan boy aside when you do this job and don't become one of those mods who roots for the site they core and are blinded to what's really going on. But the way you've been writing those articles I don't think it will be a problem. You will be a major upgrade over Jake Brown that's for sure. Even though you've blocked me on everything possible like most mods I wish you nothing but the best and hope you find continued success in what you enjoy doing. Now I can be the one asking you recruiting questions.

I heard 247's Nick Ironside quit today. They said he's going back to school to become a teacher. Of course he is.
