Midsommar. Good but so so weird.

How bout that sex scene? Lol
The opening segment was haunting. So well done.

Florence Pugh is a hot piece. Will give it a shot. Is it rental yet?
I've got a list of almost 300 movies that are favorites, classics, must-see, etc. that I'm trying to work my way through. I just finished watching The Last Picture Show (1971). Jeff Bridges, Timothy Bottoms, Cybil Shepard, Cloris Leachman, Ben Johnson, Randy Quaid, John Hillerman, and Ellen Burstyn. Johnson & Leachman both won Oscars for their roles in it. That was a seriously good movie that exceeded all my expectations. I never knew Burstyn was that good looking back in the day.
This sounds cool, I’d rather revisit all the old classics that I missed than try to keep up on the new blockbusters,... those just don’t move me at all anymore
That's exactly where I am. So many newer hit movies don't hold up over time or aren't really worth jack once you get past the hype. Too much flash and special effects, and not much plot or quality acting.
Saw Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood. Very good.

Yeah! Maybe I'm dense, but I never saw the final twist coming. Now I've gotta watch the whole thing again knowing what's really going on. Really good movie. Spacey's got some serious acting skills.

Movies for the most part just suck anymore. It's either too strong on effects, or too strong on politics/message. It's all about quantity now days to fill up on-demand, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc..
Our idea of classics may differ, but that’s why I love Turner Classic Movies. Great acting that doesn’t rely on special effects because there aren’t any! Lol
Saw it last night really enjoyed it as well. I don't know how well it will hold up to multiple viewings though. QT's stuff never gets old for me, but I could feel lots of slow spots, especially in the middle, that I will feel like skipping if I watch this one again.

I liked what he did with Sharon Tate. The subversion of not including her at all in the Manson murders really held the tension because I was waiting for the other shoe to drop the whole time. Watching it again though I think the Tate stuff is going to feel super unnecessary knowing there's really no payoff for her character.
Not dense at all. Just the subsequent viewings makes you kick yourself for not picking up on it...at least i kicked myself, pretty hard.
Also, Shutter Island.. I've seen it about 20 times, but it wasn't until the third viewing that i had a breakthrough on the true ending of the movie. Mind blown, unless i overanalyzed.

I'm watching There Will Be Blood (2007). This Daniel Day-Lewis guy isn't a bad actor.

TWBB is a movie I would call perfect. For what it was going for and the message it was trying to tell, I don't think it could be improved.
