Episode 1 doesn't deserve to be anywhere near that list.

There were a few head scratchers.

The Green Mile and American Beauty not in the top 10? Wut??? Angela's Ashes, Man on the Moon, The Hurricane, and Boys Don't Cry not in the top 25. huh???

One of my favorite movies of all time came from 99, but never gets a lot of press. Ever seen The Straight Story? Awesome, but simple movie.

I was like, "It's higher than 'Go'?!?!" lol... I remember liking that movie quite a bit, but I was right at the perfect age for it too...

If you grew up in the 80s, you’ll enjoy “The Dirt” on Netflix. While they couldn’t cram the entire book of the same title into a 1:45 movie, they stayed true to stories of Motley Crue since all four members contributed. Don’t let your kids watch it b/c it doesn’t hold back on all the sex, drugs & rock-in-roll.

I was never a fan of the band at all, but yeah, the movie's well done and a good watch. Definitely doesn't hold back on the drugs & sex. I was 20 minutes into it before it finally dawned on me who was playing Mick Mars.

It's an actual movie and not a doc??? I'm not a fan either aside from Home Sweet Home I guess but the level of 'crazy' they had is pretty legendary...

Yeah, it's a movie with actors, not a documentary. It's based on the book the four members wrote. It's pretty good, even if you're not a big fan.

I enjoyed it. They let you know from the opening scene that it's not holding back lol.

I also liked the casting choices. Iwan Rheon as Mick Mars was great.

I thought Colson "Machine Gun Kelly" Baker did a great job as Tommy Lee, though I find myself wondering if Tommy Lee ever actually resembled the innocent, uber-friendly, care-free kid that they put on screen.

And just like 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' the use of music was excellent, from playing the hits during big moments, to using the right songs for montages to show the band working and playing. Good stuff.

I wish the entire group of GNR would get together and collaborate on a book as well. What a movie that would make for?!

Watched Green Book. Pretty good flick, but not as quite good as expected. Enjoyed Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali. Ali shows his range of ability comparing Green Book to True Detective.

I watched "Triple Frontier." Good, but not great. I think it needed to push further in a particular direction to get to greatness. It covered a lot of ground: brothers in arms on a morally ambiguous mission, survival in a hostile area, some "Treasure of the Sierra Madre" nods. I think the fact that it's a solid, but muted & low-key movie is both its strength and weakness. It's one of those movies that I enjoyed and can't find serious fault with, but I'll never watch it again.

I liked the heist portion of it a lot, but I thought it went downhill fast after that portion.

I just finished 12 Years A Slave. Heck of a good story based on actual events. Ejiofor has serious acting chops.

Wanted to see Penguins with my girls.. was ready to take them... wife jumped in and said let's go the avengers. I stayed home, next day wife was like, "Let's go see penguins"... I informed her I don't enjoy going to the movies so if I'm ready to go you'd better let me go right then and there, the moment had passed. lol I do want to go see Pens with my girls soon tho... just not a big movie theater guy.

Shotcaller (on Amazon Prime) with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (jamie lannister)

It was a pretty good movie, very violent, some acting could've been better but I enjoyed it.

I don't get it. If you want to make a bad movie, just go whole hog. It will be funnier, the memes will be better, and it may even achieve a cult following at some point.

Bad movies that don't embrace their identity are the worst. Everyone will hate this.

I enjoyed it too. Gran Torino is still my favorite by miles out of "those" movies by Clint.

I haven't seen The Mule yet, but will in the next 48 hours. I'm with you on Gran Torino... one of my all-time favorite movies.

Finally saw the Suspiria remake last night. What a weird but so good movie. So very good.

Watched The Mule this weekend. Not quite as good as anticipated, but still a pretty decent flick. My only thought was when the cartel figured out the police were stopping black pickups why they didn't get the guy a new truck? Even at 89, Eastwood is still a pretty good actor.

There's a book that just came out about 1999 being the best year for movies ever. I haven't read the book but listened to a podcast breaking it down. I can see the case, even though I don't necessarily agree. It comes down to how you keep score. 1999 had lots of really good movies, but only a few great films. Whereas a year like 1939 or 1974 probably had fewer high-quality movies overall, but the gig films of those years are inarguable all-time classics. 1999 has a lot of triples and one or two home runs, but 1939 & 1974 have the grand slams.
