That's not like a reg thing everywhere?? I always assumed it was... every week there is a showing of a 'classic' at each of our local theaters...
I think we have it, but it's at like noon on Tuesdays. That's not like a reg thing everywhere?? I always assumed it was... every week there is a showing of a 'classic' at each of our local theaters...

I'm a classic movie junkie. Particularly from about 1931 - 1955. I watch TCM all the time. I would love to have a theater around here show a classic once in a while.
Well we've got the Drafthouse and the other theaters around here show classic films pretty frequently, but this whole series has been going on for years. It used to be either free or very cheap and has a double feature every week. We also don't live where the movies are being made so...

We have an old timey cinema downtown. They play old/indy movies all the time.
Who would have thought Fargo was on the cutting edge of vintage entertainment...
Doesn't the IMA have a movie film fest thing?
Is it really vintage or does it just take that long for movies to get to Fargo?
I've haven't heard anything about it. I'll have to check into it.
61* was amazing.
Aldo: "Welp, I speak the most eye-talian, so I'll be your escort. Donowitz speaks the second most, so he'll be your eye-talian cameraman. Omar third-most, so he'll be Donny's assistant."
Omar: "[Confused Look] ...I don't speak Italian."
A: "Like I said, third-best... Just keep your fuckin' mouth shut. In fact, why don't you start practicing right now."
That movie has such an odd place for me... it had a couple of GREAT scenes, some funny dialogue like above... but as a whole it was so fragmented and just kind of all over the place that is was hard to like in total.
I actually think it fits together in its fragmented state better than some other Tarantino films... or maybe not better, but still feels more linear than other films, like it's a chapter book.
I love Pulp Fiction, and I think the fragmenting/overlap makes it brilliant, but it's also more extreme in how disjointed some things seem. Same with Hateful Eight, though that's not nearly as good as Pulp Fiction.
Inglorious Basterds has almost endless replay value for me, though. I could watch it every night and not be bored.
I was disappointed in Hateful Eight. it wasn't bad but I was expecting much more.

Ha. Ha. Ha.
I believe Billy Crystal had the premier for *61 at this theater.
"The Fury." A 1979 flick about telekinetic kids and shady government agencies that want to harness their powers. People liken it to "Carrie" mostly because Brian DePalma directing both movies. I think it's more like a precursor to "Firestarter." It's not great, but it's worth watching as one of those funky period piece films where a lot of random, weird stud happens.
The ladies in my life all want to go see Wonder Woman tomorrow... they're buying me a rib eye dinner from our local high end steak house to get my to come along. I have super low expectations for the movie and will get a free steak out of it. We shall see.
