Oh great, because that's why I go see a comic movie for

Of course comics have never been political or tools of propaganda or socially relevant mediums providing windows into current status quo. Who does Feige think he is? :)

Seriously Cpt American, Wonder Woman, Entire X-Men Franchise are all political or socially based stories/universes.

Following in Superman's footsteps. He was undocumented. Superman envisioned giant filters atop skyscrapers to eliminate pollution in the early 50's.

Superman, Batman, Green Hornet, and Captain America all fought the Nazis long before the U.S. did.

Absolutely. I’ll never forget when I was watching The Green Hornet reruns and my grandpa got upset about that goddamned China man flying all over the tv. Haha.

Green Hornet reruns? That would have to be from the 60's. GH was mostly on radio.

It’s true, and I’m a Barden Bellas fanboy.

The first Pitch Perfect is the GOAT. The true robbery is when the Bellas didn’t get the Hoobastank Mic at the Riff Off.

There was a tv series from 1967. 20 something episodes. I was watching them because I loved Bruce Lee who played Kato.

From Wikipedia

It was due in part to Bruce Lee's portrayal that the Green Hornet became more well known, and that the martial arts became more popular in the United States in the 1960s.[3] In this version, he also used green sleeve darts as a ranged attack for situations in which hand-to-hand combat was either impossible or too risky. In a crossover episode of Batman from the same time and companies, Kato had a battle with Robin that ended in a draw (the same thing happened simultaneously with their senior partners). The impression Lee made at the time is demonstrated by one of the TV series tie-in coloring books produced by Watkins & Strathmore. It is titled Kato's Revenge Featuring the Green Hornet.[4] The Green Hornet's success in Hong Kong, where it was popularly known as The Kato Show, led to Lee starring in the feature films that would make him a pop culture icon.

7 at best. Cute but not super hot. Did you guys lower your expectations?

She's a 9 for me because she's not a cookie-cutter bombshell type.

She's gorgeous, but different than the "boobs + ass + unrealistic sex appeal" generic formula.

Watched The Cloverfield Paradox last night.

It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be based on the initial reaction. I actually enjoyed it for the most part, and didn't regret sinking my 1 hour and 40 minutes into it.

I wish they had been able to flesh out the crew just a little bit more before shit started hitting the fan. Some things felt low-impact because I didn't care about much of the crew.

I also think they could have done more with the "back on Earth" storyline during the film, both to make it more intriguing and to really pull it into the Cloverfield universe. We got tiny morsels, which was nice, but it just wasn't quite enough to pique my interest and make me question things as a whole. By the time the "big reveal" happens at the very end of the film, I was left wishing there had been just a bit more from that perspective.

I thought the paradoxical stuff was awesomely strange, and even unsettling, which worked well. I think they got the amount of strange occurrences right (more would have felt a bit ridiculous), but the effects on the characters themselves actually felt pretty low-rent, considering everything that was going on, and considering the impact we should have felt for them. I think that goes back to not fleshing out "crew as regular people" enough.

I'm kind of hoping they make a fourth installment that might more clearly connect the Cloverfield Monster to the Cloverfield Station, and then connect one or both to Cloverfield Lane.

I'd settle for a film that connects more closely with 10 Cloverfield Lane, though, since the intrigue of the films in the universe lies with making as little connection as possible, and making you fill in the gaps.

For example, I'd love to see a film that depicts a not-so-distant future on Earth where things aren't quite right, and then the end of the film connects to the events at the very end of 10 Cloverfield Lane somehow.

Watched Get Out! without knowing anything about it. Assumed it was a comedy. Took me longer than I care to admit to figure out it was, in fact, NOT a comedy.

Enjoyed it a lot.

Starting the Best Picture Marathon at Regal tonight. First up is Get Out (I've already seen it) at 10 PM, because that felt like the appropriate time to watch.

Oscar bait recipe... it made me feel like I was in the Twilight Zone... it's not original ( Skeleton Key rip off), it's not 'brave' ( the main topic is quite the opposite currently in Hollywood, if they wanted to do something 'brave' make a film of Trump supporters getting shit everywhere they go, THAT would be brave)... yet all I heard and read was how "original and brave" the movie was... it was neither, and really just another drum beat flick.
