Jalen Elliot’s monster hit was apparently part of an officiating conspiracy. Also, Alize Mack taking a shot to the head was just a “football play.”

ACC refs on field but the replay officials were from the B1G so Michigan fans can quit whining about that. Replay guys could have reversed Metellus' call if they felt so inclined and could have initiated a review on Jalen's hit if they felt it was necessary so UM fans can GTFO about any home-cooking.

Jalen hit should have been an ejection?

Jalen was straight up and the helmets never touched each other. Lol.

What about Drue's PI? Are they saying that's a bad call too? Lol

They don't play a ranked opponent until week 7, they'll likely get there at 6-1 or 5-2. Their season hasn't been derailed, certainly not in terms of NC picture and obviously not in terms of CC picture. Only one team could afford to lose last night and it was Michigan. If they go on a run, watch how quickly the narrative of last night's win changes in order to shoehorn them until the Playoffs picture...

OTOH if they don’t fix their offense they’ll be lucky to go 8-4.

If you looked at last years record, last years individual performances, returning efficiency.... it really wasn't a pickem IMO... ND should have been favored by 7-10...
just my humble opinion, but they really put too much into Patterson, to less into BW, and way to less into ND's D..

This!

Going over to MGoBlog, they think that Michigan just blew this game. No props for ND. It was either "Our O-line is terrible" or "Same team as last year". The fact that they were outplayed seems to not matter. I will say, some MGoBlew fans were convinced that our offense could have dropped way more points on them if we didn't go conservative in the second half.

Would you expect anything different? Lol

I just hired a Michigan fan.

He almost got fired today. He kept blaming officials and just kept talking.
I barely said a word because once I start I am not a good role model business owner.

I asked him a few questions?

Who played the better Defense Saturday?
Who played the better Offense Saturday?
Who was the better coach Saturday?

He could not give ND the nod on any question.

I then asked... who was the better team Saturday? He said, thats debatable.
I then asked him... who won Saturday? Michigan should have.... OMG

Thats extremely poor form for a new hire. He can be pissed, whiny, etc. about it, but he has to suck it up and deal while at work.

I would never have the balls to spout off like that to my new boss, even if he rooted for a team I hated, that just beat my team.

You run a brothel? I'd tell him to just stick to washing the sheets and cleaning up messes, and leave the football analysis to others.

Michigan is your Auburn. When we beat them 49-0 a few years ago I heard several of their fans make essentially the same arguments: "It was the refs... we actually outplayed you... it was closer than the score indicated..." and other such drivel. Demote a couple of UM grads, sleep with their wives (take pics to send to them), and remind them of the score. It's what we do to the barners.

The day that type of play becomes a penalty is the day football truly dies.

I'm 100% with you on this. Borderline, accidental helmet-to-helmet and hard licks aren't the same thing as genuinely intentional targeting. Someone on ESPNU yesterday complained that players getting ejected for one borderline targeting hit was hurting the game. They suggested a 15-yard personal foul penalty and a warning to the player. Only flagrant targeting or a 2nd offense should result in an ejection. I totally agree.

Yup, agree.

I don't even think the Michigan safety should have been ejected, to be honest. He didn't launch into Mack, he was just there and reacted to the situation. I'd hate to be a safety in today's game. It's damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Not sure I agree. I thought the defender purposely lowered and led with his head on the Mack hit. And with this hit, the player actually just turns into the defender.

Laurie knows nothing about what targeting is. She should look at the crown of Winovich's helmet crashing into Brandon's grill on the sack just before Wimbush had that 22 yard QB run for the first down. Or, Hudson's helmet to helmet on TJ Jr at around the 7 minute mark of the 4th. Both of those are more clearly targeting.

I am sure she is also upset about the egregious foul of Julian Okwara 'stealing the pass' that was intended for the Michigan player (too lazy to look up who the target was)

BTW, it is laughable how many Michigan fans are on about the 'bad spots' all game long. When Harbaugh gets fired, the excuse will be his 1-9 record against OSU/MSU/ND, was due to death-by-a-thousand-cuts (or losing a yard on EVERY spot in EVERY game). Comedy

I could see them losing at least one during this three week stretch leading up to Wisconsin:

9/22 Nebraska
9/29 @ Northwestern
10/6 Maryland

My bet would be @ NW, but Maryland played well enough against Texas, and you always have to be worried about the ol' look-ahead on the schedule..
