Nothing is 100% until every vacancy in the country at both levels is filled. Just the nature of the beast.

As for BVG, Mike Frank just noted that the University is shut down right now as everyone is on winter break and they have pretty thorough background check regulations in place now after the O'Leary incident. So he doesn't expect the announcement to be made for a little while, and he eventually expects Denbrock to get the OC job. He thinks the additional offensive assistant will be hired after all the musical chairs stops.

Ouch, the sooner the better.

Hypothetically speaking, unless there is a clause permitting Kelly to bring "immediate" hires to the Lions (and assuming VanGorder wants to relocate there), I can't imagine VanGorder would have serious interest in interviewing/coaching at Notre Dame with Kelly as a potential leave. It would be a complicated and cruel heist if Kelly were to go that far in assembling an NFL crew behind the scenes. "So, BVan, you want to coach defense at the University of Notre Dame.... what about the Detroit Lions, eh, eh?"

I do not think he will leave.

I just don't like the negative effect on recruiting. I always read a lot of recruits look for stability in the coaching staff. To have BK talk with the Eagles one year and then the Lions the next (if that actually does happen) makes it look like he will jump ship very soon.

I would love to see BK make a statment like Shaw did.

The existence of this thread seems dumb to me. I guess nobody can say they are 100% sure he isn't going anywhere. Nothing is ever 100%. But I am the next degree down from 100%, whatever you want to call that. It doesn't even feel like there is much smoke to be concerned about, unlike last year when there was and I still never thought he would actually go anywhere.

Unless he is asked directly, he isn't going to call a press conference to announce he isn't interested in other jobs. That would be weird, and honestly he probably doesn't care if you are worried about it. Even if he is asked directly, he may not feel the need to address it.

Yes because he openly acknowledged and expressed desire to coach in the NFL one day. The only caveat being that he said he would like to accomplish what he set out to do at Notre Dame (win a national title). Not out of the realm of possibility to think when presented with a huge financial promotion and a better chance at winning it all someone would make the leap without achieving the goals they had previously set out before.

The Leos have spent 15 years building this team. If they cripple their momentum with a hire that doesn't pan out, God help them. This is the most important hire in their franchise's history. Whisenhunt is the safe choice IMO.

The NFL chews up coaches and every year spits a few out. Its not like this season is the only one where Kelly could find NFL interest, given the high rate of attrition for NFL coaches every season should produce interest in Kelly. All he has to do is keep up a reasonable degree of success here and he will always get "interest" from the teams that fire the head coach every season. I'm sure he realizes this.

I don't doubt that BK is on someone's list somewhere, but they would have to be crazy to offer him the job and he would have to be crazy to take it. The whole thing makes so little sense I'm not going to spend a ton of time worrying about it.

You are aware that unless a recruit goes on this site and finds this thread with this non-info and all the speculation theres really no way for them to be effected negatively. Ya theres like 3 articles that mentioned Kelly but theres no source and all speculation. So if this thread ends…so does the non info.
