when was last time someone from a sub .500 team was a finalist for heisman?
Adams could put up Tecmo bowl numbers if the staff wanted to play the Heisman hype train game. They are being responsible and he is killing it with his limited opportunities. Adams is #2 in my book which means (to me) no conversation should be taking place between respectable analysts without his name.
Anyone holding low UGA numbers against Adams without pointing out Barkley had 56 yards rushing (51 receiving) against Indiana and followed that up a 75 yard rushing/9 yards receiving game against Northwestern is not playing very honest.
Last week against Michigan - 111 yards came on two touches - the other 16 touches covered 50 yards. Other than the opening play of the game......
Oh - and against UGA - Adams had six receptions for 60 yards to combine with his 53 yards on the ground - 25 touches for 113 yards is a solid day against an elite defense.

This weekend will help sort it out a bit in my opinion. If barkley has a mediocre-good game against OSU its his to lose. Get stuffed, have a fumble or something, its still a open race.

Or just a mediocre team.
Timmy Tebow won it on an 8-4 team (deservedly) and as a Sophomore. RGIII's team had 2 losses (which was outstanding at Baylor). Jackson had what, 3 losses last year? Manziel had 2 or 3, but beat alabama.
The heisman is a sham. I think it kind of loses luster with each passing year. When guys like Ingram and Henry win it, it's clear voters are lazy and simply voting for the guy with the sexiest stats on the best team. Defensive players are almost never even finalists, let alone winners.

Add that Barkley has a more effective passing game which should open more lanes for him to run in. Not saying I think Adams is better or worse... there are several RBs out there that aren't getting any mention and should be.

Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield and Saquon Barkley would be my locks for an invite. After than there is a lot of discussion and football to be played.
If Sam Darnold even sniffs NYC I’m boycotting the whole thing.
Mannnnnn fuck Baker Mayfield. Dude is overrated trash.
You forgot who daddy is.
With the Irish noise getting loud, Josh will be more and more in the spotlight.
UGA is a top 5 team (rushing D) and Josh had 53 yards. MichSt is top 10 and Josh had 56.
NCSt is top 10 as well, but our other remaining opponents are all outside the top 50 I believe.
If Josh can be successful this weekend, and keep killing it against the others, he will become more and more in the conversation. He won't catch Love, but all the other RBs are fair game.
I would love to see him get more targets in the passing game.
He had 60 yards receiving vs. UGA - over 100 from scrimmage for the day - there weren't many holes on the ground so they got to him through the air.
MSU - 9 touches and 6.2 average and lead the team rushing in a rout, 40 rushes and he only ran 9 of them. Why is he punished for not being needed? Same as rest of the season - he has sat a ton of minutes b/c we have depth and huge leads. Put your ace back in the hole and save it for when you need it!
You are correct on NCST - He needs a good game to make a push for the TOP spot, no doubt he is top 5. But don't act like these other chumps are only playing elite defenses.
Not acting like anything. Just looking at data. We'll see what Love can do against Washington (1st total D, 2nd rushing D). Taylor from Wiscy, his job is about to get harder too.
If ND wants to get him in the conversation, they know what to do.
I don't think BK and company GAF about the Heisman. They have their eyes on a bigger prize. One that is best achieved through full roster use and keeping your stud horse fresh and well groomed.
And F-Love - nobody watches that west coast shit. He has fewer catches than Adams so he is disqualified.

^^^and the only.
I figured but was too lazy to do the research. If current winning %'s carry to end of season no way Lamar Jackson is invited right? A kid people have voters remorse from the PY on a under .500 team is unlikely to be heisman, imo.
