Hilarious that there is an entire board dedicated to sucking off the SEC. F'n coattail riders.

All those Kentucky fans have to let Western Kentucky know exactly who beat them.........

The site is full of trolls with poor grammar. If one can get past all that, there are a handfull of posters from most of the schools in the conference that actually have decent knowledge of their programs. During the Ole Miss investigation, I would swear that a couple of the posters were sitting in the NCAA compliance office taking notes.

What I don't understand is why do those SEC fan bases hate us so much? I don't understand the irrational hatred of ND, I just don't. My father in law who grew up in the boonies of West Virginia can't stand ND, and I have no idea why.

I know the meme of the arrogant, insufferable ND fan base, but that is tired. If anything ND fans are unbearably negative. No one shits on ND harder than our own fans. If SEC rant didn't cherry pick quotes to have a faux outrage fest with they would see that we hate on our team more than they could ever dream of.

The best part is that on the first page I ripped the hell out of ND and said we'd get murdered... they conveniently don't quote that post. Or the multitude of similar ones.

Also, the doubly funny part is that last quote of playing in a conference championship being "beneath ND" was OBVIOUSLY snarking AT Notre Dame and they missed it.

I guess what they say about SEC country being the least intelligent place in this country is the truth.

Quite simple, BW hits open wide receivers down the field we'd have at least two more wins.

This game is the same. If BW can play pass and catch, then we'll be fine. If not, we'll lose.

They truly believe that football above the Mason Dixon line is overrated. That everything good that comes to Notre Dame is inflated because of the competition that ND plays. They feel the same way about Ohio State.

Also, there is the whole NBC thing. Again, they think that because of the NBC deal that ND gets preferential treatment when it comes to polls.

Overall they do really believe that Notre Dame is the most overrated football program in the country and the fanbase is delusional in thinking our team is more important than what they actually are(in their minds).

To be fair, a wholly-objective watcher of college football using only the last 20 years as evidence could be forgiven for not quite understanding what all the fuss is about with Notre Dame Football. On paper, we’re comparable to, like, Oklahoma State or Wisconsin. Of course it’s a little more complicated than just that.

Either way, to say we get preferential treatment in the polls or somehow play a weak schedule is ridiculous.

If it were only that easy wingman. Today’s players think differently than we are probably used to. Bowl games are mattering less and less I am afraid. Not for all teams, players obviously but I think that number grows each passing year.

I don't post a lot here, but lurk quite a bit. I did want to throw my $.02 in here though. Since the advent of the playoff I don't believe the bowl games (outside of the playoffs) mean much to the players. For the blue blood programs it seems like it’s playoffs or bust. Bowl games outside of the playoffs just mean free swag and a month of extra practices in December (not sure players totally think that is a plus). I think this thought might have something to do with the way ND played their last two games. The stated goal of winning a natty was no longer attainable. Do I think that was the sole reason? Definitely not, but maybe played a small role. An expanded playoff might be better for post season play, but then regular season games become less important. Which is why college football is so great. I’m not sure which way I lean on that topic.

Well, I contacted my high school and ND buddy in Orlando. I have a couch at his place reserved in my name when I hit town the 31st on my way back to Jax from Minneapolis.

I'll be in section P35, row E, seat 24.

I'll research any ND Alumni Club tailgates and post updates.

Maybe I'll have a chance to meet up with some of you jokers.

Will be down on the beach 12/31-01/07 and thinking about popping over to Orlando for the game since it's early. I'm taking the moms and some other family to FL, so will likely be going solo to the game.

Stubhub has a bunch of reasonable tix left, so may just wait till that week to buy or might even try to get a pimp seat from a scalper after kickoff.

If anyone has a single ticket that they are trying to sell, PM me.

Looks like Arden Key isn't practicing and might not play. That'd be a nice turn of events

I believe ND is 0-6 or something like that in Florida Bowl games since 1991... this would also be the biggest bowl win since 1994 with a lot of big bowl losses I don't have to remind you of during that span. That's a lot of history needing to be undone here. If that's worth anything I don't like our chances, but if ND rests up, gets healthy mentally and physically and plays anything like they did prior to the UM game then it's a different story.

Actually, I think the % is chance of an upset. From that article:

To project the chance of an upset — defined here as the underdog per the consensus Vegas odds — Sports Reference’s adjusted points for and against were used to forecast a margin of victory, which was then converted into a win probability. One final note: The upset picks are made outright, not against the spread. In some of these cases, the favorite wins, but does not cover.

I'm hoping that all the predictions that have LSU favored here make them take this game too lightly and then the Irish come out guns blazing and LSU spends the whole game on their heels. Kelly is an objectively better coach then Ed O, so I'd like to think with a month off he'll come up with plan to give Notre Dame a much-needed win.

But Matt Canada and Dave Aranda are elite coordinators. Don't forget that.

I don't see ND stopping LSU consistently, and I don't see ND scoring on a team that can stop the run well.

Probably little chance of them taking this game lightly. I hope that ND takes into consideration the team speed of LSU. Those slow developing runs that Josh fed on all year (except Miami and Georgia) won't work against LSU. We need quicker hits and need to set the edge a few times early as well. If BW looks settled early I think we will be OK...if he can't take advantage of the "eight in the box" that he will surely face...it will be a long night IMO.

If BW can perform at the level of a decent passer -- not elite, great, or even good, but just decent -- AND BK/CL give Dexter an actual shot to get some burn at at least RB2 (if not 1) then I like the offense's chances of moving the ball. I think the D will keep the team in the game if the ND O can do them the service of keeping them off the field often enough to catch their breath. If ND shows up with the same O that showed up for the last 1/3 of the season, LSU runs away with it no later than the 3rd quarter.

Gentlemen, we all know that this is all about the quarterbacks.

C'mon Brandon! Get us a nice "calm" conservative game. Your buddies will do the rest.

And Brandon: RTDB! I mean YOU.

Irish WR Chase Claypool out for Citrus Bowl with shoulder injury
By Alex Wilcox | Posted: Sat 2:08 PM, Dec 16, 2017

Irish WR Chase Claypool will miss the Citrus Bowl after tearing ligaments in his shoulder in practice last week, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation.

Claypool will undergo surgery Tuesday.

The loss is a big one for Notre Dame, as Claypool has emerged as one of quarterback Brandon Wimbush's favorite targets. The sophomore receiver from Canada is second on the team with 29 receptions for 402 yards and two touchdowns.

Claypool originally injured the shoulder in Notre Dame's 24-17 win over Navy on November 18th, but was able to stay in the game. He also played the next week in the season finale, a 38-20 loss to Stanford in Palo Alto, but only recorded one catch for 11 yards.

Notre Dame will play LSU in the Citrus Bowl at 1 p.m. on New Year's Day.
