BK presser: Alohi Gilman would have started at safety had he been eligible this year.

BWs problem isn't mental at all. its all mechanical.

He likes the December 20th signing day.

Probably little chance of them taking this game lightly. I hope that ND takes into consideration the team speed of LSU. Those slow developing runs that Josh fed on all year (except Miami and Georgia) won't work against LSU. We need quicker hits and need to set the edge a few times early as well. If BW looks settled early I think we will be OK...if he can't take advantage of the "eight in the box" that he will surely face...it will be a long night IMO.

Irish need to match emotional edge LSU will bring to their 'super bowl '2018 if not its an %$# kicking. Notre Dame is good enough to win this game if they don't look at it as just another game and use it to kick start next year. I don't think you can run right at these guys you have got to get other backs on the edges and let Wimbush toss it around and run a little. These guys have the speed of Miami and are big people on defense. On offense you must stop their power run game which you are going to get a large dose of. Its a chance to finally win a New Years Day Bowl game. I hope they want to play in it as bad as we want them to show up.

But Matt Canada and Dave Aranda are elite coordinators. Don't forget that.

I don't see ND stopping LSU consistently, and I don't see ND scoring on a team that can stop the run well.

Exactly.

Unless ND somehow gets a massive game from Adams, LSU could be on ND's side of the field a LOT.

LSU D only gave up 9 passing TD's all year. Gonna be a low scoring game methinks.

Just so no one starts calling us favorites and that we'll run over them, I'll take all this sort of news I can get.

A key to this game is LSU not being rabidly motivated. If they go into this feeling that it's just another game (and Wimbush doesn't play like a freshman) then we win. If they're rabid, we can still win, but it's a lot harder.

I somewhat agree, but it's really hard to gauge what's "rabid" for LSU. The closest I can recall is the Auburn game, but that was in Baton Rouge and Auburn, despite popular belief, is woefully inconsistent on offense. Yes, they took it to Georgia, but then 2 weeks later, Georgia beat their offense to a pulp. A few weeks prior to this game, Auburn's OL gave up 11 sacks to Clemson and scored a whopping 6 points. The other games they've played was an underwhelming loss to a good Alabama squad (not great), and a bunch of wins to teams that are in the midst of coaching changes this offseason.

Kinda want to go... would be nice to put a face to some fellow posters and explore this beautiful state.

I'll be there. Should we meet, keep in mind that anything other than the lightest hearted (is that even possible???) discussion of politics will result in a flag and an automatic ejection.

Is this an NCAA thing or an ND standards thing?

Silver lining for the dark cloud overhead

Silver lining for the dark cloud overhead

Wimbush's decisions will be simplified significantly.

He will not have to go through progressions nor adjust for the different speed and height of the WRs.
