Like Clash said, hopefully once the server stabilizes a bit we can upgrade to the newest version of vBulletin. I've been chomping at the bit for that day.

Idk about y'all, but it's been 48 hours since I've been able to be on the site. I was able to look at one or two threads yesterday for about 10 minutes, but that was it. I'm sure hoping that these 2+ day outages will be a thing of the past.

Hmmm, no notifications in my browser. Looks like the functionality is there at least, might just need tweaked. In there Profile Settings there's a section under Notifications to receive a message in your Message Center when someone @ you, I've got that turned on.

Y'all are really brave. Migrating servers, and upgrading. I'm guessing the migration forced the upgrade.

It was only chance I got in this way via a bookmark from another machine which led me to play around with older bookmarks.

Anyway, happy that there is progress, but... One of the primary complaints from folks in the past was that there was no warning of migrations/changes. Sorry if I missed a notification/post, but seems like y'all migrated servers without giving anyone a heads up. Glad it's the off season.

There was a very real chance that the old server hosting the board could have gone down at any point or become unavailable, and then it might have been impossible to update or migrate the server due to lost data or incompatible versions. That's part of the reason it took a few days for Clashmore to work out the kinks with the vBulletin team, they had to do multiple updates just to make the site usable on the new server. It had been many years since anyone bothered to touch the software. In any case, big thanks to the new owners for working on this and putting us in a good place for the future! Updated features and quality of life upgrades can help bring in some new posters.

I had an employee that was in early on it. He spent a ton of dollars on cheap components building PCs and even spent a decent amount on solar to power it all. He's no better off now lol... Another guy that just played the trade on it all, did pretty good.

We had planned on giving everyone a heads-up, but once the former owners were ready to initiate the transfer, we were kind of thrown into the deep end without much lead time.

Now we're in a place where the site is usable, but there may be intermittent interruptions (like yesterday) as we figure everything out and get this place set up in a way that feels more familiar.

We have experienced some redirect issues with trying to get our front page set up like it was on the old version, which seems to have resulted in the home address 'irishenvy.com' not being responsive. 'irishevny.com/forums' and 'irishenvy.com/forums/frontpage' are working, but we're trying to smooth everything out.

I believe clashmore mentioned that the vBulletin version that was transferred had not had any support since 2010. When the files were transferred to the new server, we encountered a series of out of date/unsupported issues that forced us into an upgrade which then forced us into the full upgrade. We attempted to keep everyone abreast via Facebook and Twitter and posted that above (I think). We were not able to send out notifications of the prolonged outage from here.

so for some reason i wasnt allowed on here for days, and even this morning it still wasnt loading. How is it some were allowed on and some werent?

Also, am I the only one that thinks the "new" format actually looks older?

mine has been about 50/50 on if he loads. im still experiencing some very slow load times and ive done all sorts of web clearings.

there is a little blue double arrow looking thing that is supposed to take you to the last post. ive found it works on some threads and not on others. When the forum or front page dont load for me it typically says server error.

I remember last season there was a while where I was getting UM ads on here. So nothing could be worse than that.
