Rick Pitino dropping into this thread to wish everyone a very happy New Year

Rich Rod wouldn't be fired for having an affair if he had the same number of national championships as Pitino...

Wonder what Arizona found when they investigated their basketball coach and the apparent paying of recruits? Oh wait... he has a much better winning percentage than Rich has in football.

I bet she has an open circuit regulator in the bedroom for when ole brett feels randy. Nothing like a 400lb blanket that looks like fat butthead that smothers every air molecule around his 8 foot belly.

gotta love CFB....where one school fires a coach for, in part, seemingly treating women like sexual objects. Same school is entertaining hiring a coach with a pitch of bringing in another coach that was humiliated publicly with phone calls to hookers.

Read Allegations Against Rich Rodriguez | The Daily Caller

On November 6, 2015, Rodriguez asked Melissa to get a sideline pass for his “friend” for the USC game in Tucson, which turned out to be his girlfriend. During the game, Melissa realized that Rodriguez’s wife was also on the sideline. At some point Melissa had to stand between the two hoping to avoid a confrontation. The following Monday, Melissa complained to Rodriguez about how upsetting it was to be placed in that situation. Rodriguez laughed it off without acknowledging her stress or sense of betrayal to his wife.

The funny parts are walking in the office shirtless after workouts, telling her he was going to take a shower, telling her what underwear enhances his Rich Rod, etc. Just pathetic.

just boggles my mind. I mean yea you could argue he had talent, and underachieved...but Les Miles was a decent OC from an annual war with Saban well into 2010s. Find him an OC, and let him do Mad Hatter...there is at least one more championship in there IMHO.

Navy being a creampuff easy win again would be almost as much of a positive for ND as Elko leaving was a negative.

...and then they'd hire Bob Davies and he'd bring Tuitele's Army version of the flexbone to Annapolis.

Yikes.

(Also, Khalil Tate would be so good at it... it's almost ironic)

Thought this guy balked at other HC opportunities. Any reason to think he'd consider Zona?

Ken Niumatalolo of Navy Midshipmen pulls name from Arizona coaching hunt

This popped about 30 minutes before the Sumlin to AZ new broke.

Navy football coach Ken Niumatalolo has taken his name out of consideration for the Arizona job, he confirmed through a text message on Sunday afternoon.

"After much prayer and pondering, it has become crystal clear the USNA is a special place with special people and I LOVE IT HERE!!!" he texted on Sunday. "Plus I have unfinished business to finish."

The Washington Post reported on Saturday that Niumatalolo returned to Annapolis on Saturday after spending two days at Arizona to interview for the job. No offer had been officially made, according to ESPN's Adam Rittenberg, but Niumatalolo and Arizona discussed financials and other issues. When asked if an offer had been made, Niumatalolo told ESPN in a text message, "I would rather not go into too much detail but I will say that there was strong interest on both sides."
