On a semi serious note, the football team showing up for stuff 1) makes the event more fun for everyone, 100 college guys make a student section/crowd better and 2) makes them easier to support as well. LAX bros probably go to all the football games anyway, but this is good regardless. Hope they roll into some of the more obscure events too.

Always appreciated when other teams came to our stuff in high school. Wrestling isn't a big spectator sport. But when the basketball team rolled in to watch once in awhile it made things more fun.

Talk about a confidence builder.

When I was in high school and played baseball is and the varsity girls for softball would always travel together. And whoever got done first would go cheer on the the other. Of course the girls where always much louder but we could make some noise as well.

Right? No bigger confidence builder than when your peers come to support. Just makes it more fun. Idk if MFMF should require it, but I hope he strongly "encourages" it.

Yep, never missed a rugby match at Valpo. The rugby guys rented the house behind the bench and kegs were always tapped during play. 15 fans sitting on a small aluminum bleacher on the sideline. 500 kids in the backyard of the house actin' a fool.

I hope my kid has as much fun at ASU.

It’s been deleted. What did it say?

ND has hired a new director of player personnel, Butler Benton, the GM of Arkansas. Assuming Loy deleted it because he said he told his subscribers of this on May 21st, not March 21st.

This is essentially an enhanced version of the Bill Rees role from my understanding. Should play a pivotal role in recruiting and the portal.

Lloyd has been propping this up as an outstanding hire since he caught wind of it a month ago. No one has said it's an upgrade over Bill Rees yet, but it probably is. Rees was a very experienced evaluator of talent, but no one talked about him like they talk about Benton. Supposedly will play a major role in recruiting and portal acquisitions moving forward.

Is this really surprising, though? I mean, everything we have today is better than the last guy, right?

That's the MO of the business and it's the purposeful hype of the Freeman era.

It's no different than when we hired Bill Rees.

I'm sure this guy is very good at his job but so was Bill Rees. Time will tell on if he is able to be a part of creating more value to the football. program.

247 rated Joe Alt the 8th best college football player in the nation.

I don't care necessarily about leaving Sam Hartman off the list, but the inclusion of Cade Klubnik (among others) invalidates it.
Fashanu isn’t better than Alt, no way.

They must have missed the part where Alt was the highest graded OL last season.

Lol. Pollan totally got processed at LSU.
He got a huge payday to leave, though.
His base pay was $650k in 2023 & $675k in 2024 ($625k in 2022).
If released without cause, he gets 90% of his base salary of the remaining years of his 3 year contract.
So LSU paid him just under $1.2 million to leave.

That’s crazy the amount of money they have paid out for coaches that are no longer there.
