A foot of snow expected in the northern Detroit area.
We have had about 5 inches fall since I've been sitting at my desk. Biggest snow flakes I have seen. Looking to have a falling rate of 1 inch/hr tonight. State of Michigan has closed.

Any chance Ann Arbor gets buried...State of Michigan has closed because they are weak. The rest of us are still at work.

Thank goodness for the pool.
You don't need to keep us updated on what you did in your pants...

Pffft, Ohio can go from 30 to 80 in the span of 12 hours.

You guys are getting rain? It's been dry AF here since January. The fruit crops have been shit and the pumpkins are in jeopardy.
I don't remember the last time we have even gotten anywhere close to the amount of rain we got yesterday. It started around 2:00 and it seemed to be a steady pour for at least 12 hours. Several businesses are closed today becuase their parking lots are flooded. We got about 7.5 inches of rain and some neighboring cities had 10 inches.
It was like the Clemson game all over again!
Just because I'm a weather dork, Saturday, September 13, 2008 was the last time South Bend got this much rain. Or almost this much, about 7 inches in 24 hours. The average for South Bend in September is around 3".
The crazy thing is that yesterday we got that much in half the time. Our August average is about 8 inches and we almost met that average in one day.
The wind has constantly been blowing 25-30 mph with gusts over 40 since late Monday morning in South Dakota. Supposed to go through today as well.
