Wow! I might have to go check out the weather channel. That's a lot of snow.

Their calling for up to 30".... I'd say Congress just wanted to take Monday off and fixed the Haarp thingy..
Jackalope - my family has a cabin near Lincoln (about 20-30 mins from Alpena). I live in GR now, but travel to the cabin once every summer. Love it up there
So hard to even imagine summer when it's so friggin cold and snowy outside. I feel like it's been like this since November when, in reality, it has been like 3 weeks or less. We had a green new years this year!
Haha, I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about this:

A light dusting did that.
I'm not sure what this means.
Well, living in Alpena I'm sure you wouldn't. It basically means what you get every day during the winter caused DC to go full disaster movie.
And how many million people are concentrated in your area?
The DC area and the surrounding states don't have the equipment to deal with the snow that states in the snow belt do.[/QUOTES]
I hear this a lot and I know that makes a big difference for when there's 30", but Lansing blows at clearing the roads. A lot of times they do nothing at all unless it's 6+ inches. You don't need equipment to deal with an inch of snow. You need a level head that isn't stuck firmly in your behind.
Cool! I lived in GR for four years during my college days and I love it there but I'm a small town guy at heart so I moved back. Let's meet for golf and cocktails at Monarch Ridge next time you come up.

Where are you guys?

Tomorrow should be in the mid 70s here in southern AZ.
Just bumped up our forecasted accumulation to 30 inches. A few years ago we got 30 inches and 4 days later got 28 inches. Crazy amount of snow.
Sitting here in freaking western New England and we've had zero inches so far this year.Crazy to see that Southern PA will get blasted compared to up here in Northeastern/Central PA. We're only expected to get up to 10 inches.
Stay safe down that way.
I'm looking outside of my MI window right now enjoying only seeing 3"Been a pretty lame winter in MI. I'd trade DC in a heartbeat.
Staying out of this discussion this go-round. I sold my Minneapolis home of 32 years in July and hit the road, mooching off family in NY. Now I'm mooching off family in Jacksonville, FL and looking for an apartment.
I can still keep cold and snow bragging rights for a year or two, can't I?
You can always buy an Ariens snowblower.....
I hear that model tends to stop 5 times a day.
Say it with me now, Dick:

Seems the meteorologists were wrong about how much we would get here. My hometown ended up getting roughly 28-30 inches. They predicted no more than 10. What a storm.
