This right here is why IE is such a special place... where else is a guy like me going to find such like minded people???
You're exactly whom I thought of when reading grey's post

I'm just an average IEer so I don't pay attention to college football in general. When I have nothing better to do on a fall Saturday I typically turn on the ND game in the background and try to stay awake while waiting for my herbal tea to brew. (My real passion is the WNBA.)
I just want to thank Koon for alerting me to the fact that our coaching staff is so ahead of our competition from a strategy perspective. With no elite, 5-star talent we play what is generally considered a top 5 schedule and somehow have been the playoff hunt/NC game in 3 of the past 6 years. This is really good because I'm told only like 4 teams make it in on average. Really ipmressive work by Kelly and Mr. Van Gordon.
Like I said above, I don't know how football works because I don't really watch it (TOO CONFUSING). But I like when we win and I like the NBC halftime show with the "I fight" tv spots. It's just really comforting to know that despite the fact that we are never recruiting at a top 10 level, we somehow find a way to win occasionally.
Go Irish! Beat Michigan State!

Nowhere did he mention cats or pumpkin beers OR ASIANS dude... come on.

I bet the best part of the entire year for you three is the Tournament of Roses Parade
You guys sometimes ask me why I, a Bama fan, am here on a Notre Dame board. Well this is why. You and Greyhammer. I'm not really into the whole CFB thing either. I just like the colored uniforms and all the pageantry. Well, that and the sweating. I love autumn.

We have been getting the "Rolling with the Alabama Tide" (fall camp) Documentary out here in Australia on ESPN. Got to admit I am enjoying it immensely.
Kirk is my favorite analyst across any sport on any network, you can tell he's very knowledgeable and loves what he does, and he gets unfairly dumped on because of his days in Columbus. He moved his family out of Columbus because he got dumped on for being "unfairly critical" of his alma mater:

The only fan base I know of that doesn't respect him for the most part is scUM because of the above; they know he went there and are blind to anything else regarding Kirk. I think he's a great color analyst and love him on Game Day.
He's a pro's pro.
It's pretty interesting... a lot of behind the scenes stuff, personalities, etc. Did you see that dining room in ep. 3? Lobster. They serve lobster. Then they talked about how many hundred pounds of shrimp, steak, wings and bacon they went through every week. They serve enough food to feed a small country.
Jamele Hill reportedly taking a buyout with ~$2M left on her ESPN contract.
I wonder what kind of dirt she has on ESPN or her superiors that she's getting a buyout and will be free to work immediately, whereas everyone else basically has to hang out in limbo or find a new job and forfeit the money ESPN owes them.
From FoxSports.com
Jemele Hill, the ESPN commentator who has made controversial comments about President Trump, is leaving the sports network, according to reports.
A buyout of her reported $2.5 million-per-year contract has been completed and her last day will be Friday, sources told the New York Post.
The separation was due to Hill's desire to be involved in politics, while ESPN wants to be apolitical, the Post reported.
She wants to be involved in political commentary, which is completely fine.
I'm just wondering why ESPN caved and gave her a buyout, rather than making her wait in limbo like they did with other folks.
I'm glad she's gone. Cannot stand her. The only ESPN personality I hate to listen to.
Then why did you listen? lol
It's an interesting phenomenon. People say they can't stand Stephen A. Smith either, but their inclination is to watch him and yell at the TV or rage-tweet about him. The people who don't like Jemele Hill just literally turn the TV off.I don't. I have no idea what podcasts she does (if any), or what show she does.
If my daughter's life was on the line and I had to get it right, I'd be lost.
But whenever the TV happens to be on and she's there, I just can't stand her.

She made 2.5 million??????????? No wonder they had to lay off a million people.

My theory is that Stephen A. is annoying but has enough unique characteristics that he is easy to mock and imitate, which makes watching him fun, because it's like being in on a punchline. "Kobe is a dear friend, we've shared many bubble baths together. "
Hill is annoying and is completely unoriginal in her schtick. For Rstings: Interesting/likeable = Great (Van Pelt), Boring/likeable = Good (Herbstreit), Interesting/Unlikable = good (Bayless), Boring/Unlikable = Bad (Hill)
