Wow, that’s impressive considering Clemson’s fanbase. The cynic will say that Clemson is saving up for the NC game in San Francisco.

They aren't a national fanbase and never will be. They are an mid sized Ag school from the South who decided they wanted to be elite at football.

That's exactly what they are doing. Hope it bites them in the ass.

It would be great.

It certainly felt that way when I was looking for tickets on Vivid Seats. Higher prices and far less available on the ND side of the field. Cheapest available were in the corner where Clemson's allotment was.
Interestingly, Notre Dame either didn't initially sell out its allotment or got more tickets from the Cotton Bowl, because they came back and offered people who didn't win the lottery a chance to buy tickets last week.

They were able to get their hands on additional tickets because demand outstripped their supply.

i wish a random positive would trigger testing for the entire team. i'd bet there's a lot more using the same shampoo.

BINGO!! You are exactly correct. If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, swims like a duck and flies like a duck... it's a duck! If Dabo (who I actually respect) tells me it's not a duck then let's get to the bottom of things.

Objectively, I think Dabo thinks/knows it's a duck too... he's just looking out for Clemson.

Cheers and Go Irish!!

Shampoo? In the interview Lawrence said it could have been an energy drink or hair gel...which is funny because he currently has his hair cut too short for hair gel. The whole thing stinks, especially with 3 other players coming back positive. Reminds me of all the talk about the deer antler spray and possible shenanigans in 2012. Even the damn playing field, test the entire team when players come back with failed tests!

The question is: Are the vast majority of collegiate football teams using performance enhancing drugs to some degree? I’m not justifying it, but I’m also not quick to throw stones. Sports have been bonkers for a while now. Evening the playing field seems like it would require a major overhaul when the game is don’t get caught.

Take a few minutes and listen to Dabo talk about his 3 kids, NOT 1... NOT 2... 3! kids that tested positive for a steroid! It really chaps my ass for him to downplay the facts of this matter. 3 kids testing positive for the same product is an issue, not a fluke. OWN IT DABO!!!!

Pretty sure this is how it will go down:

1. Dexter Lawrence plays, and dominates, after being VINDICATED by a clean sample B. Dabo lauds the kid a few more times, and once again denies any wrongdoing

2. Lawrence is a high draft pick, Dabo lauds his LEADERSHIP, HIGH MOTOR, and COMPETITIVENESS

3. He gains 30 pounds of fat since he cant use PEDS anymore, and flames out of the league in 2 years

4. Dabo doesnt return calls to that GREAT KID after the NFL money is gone and he needs help

Please appeal. It will be fun when the NCAA says:

Ok great, we just need all 85 guys to pee in one of these before we get that appeal going

Dabo Is a clown. Dabo just lost all respect from my end. It's amazing.
I'm watching the 2015 game at the moment and If CJ Sanders doesn't fumble to start the 2nd half we probably win that game. They (didn't win) the ship that year.

You guys can ask me about Drug tests and I'll give ya'll the flowers.

BYOG. Bring your own guts game.

Ok. You're right. I was going off the top of my head.
After watching the second half, We would have won with any of our other QB's had they just looked at the D and not their EGO.

Brent Venables has those boys on supplements. Kirk Herbstreit was giving him all kinds of love in the 2015 game and regarding ND as nonsense.. Herbstreit IS!!!

Everyone forgets the conditions we played under. EVERYONE forgets how hard Kizer threw the ball. I'll take us every minute of the coming game.
Herbstreit needs to shut up this time.

20% fail rate... only fair to let ND fans vote out 3 other starters, right? You know, just playing the odds if they aren’t going to test the whole team for steroids.

Now Huggins will win Defensive Player of the Game honors. Seriously though, get ready to hear the broadcast team drone on & on about him finally getting his big opportunity to start in his last game as a Clemson Tiger.

The question is. How many kids are on the team? Whats the regulate % they require to test. I'd say 3%. If that % Is wrong than It's my calculations that are wrong.
Dabo stated 105 on the team at one point. I wish we could open another 3% so It would show what has been going on to win......

I don't think Notre Dame is going to go against what got them to the playoffs, and I don't think they should either.. They need a solid mix of running and passing. Lax's suggestion of throwing it 50+ times and "hoping it works" is a terrible idea IMO and thats a guaranteed way to lose the game.

Notre Dame doesn't need to run for 200+ and average 5 ypc in order to be successful. Yes, Clemson has a great d-line and run defense, but ND needs to run it enough to keep the defense honest. Notre Dame making themselves one dimensional hasn't won them a game this year, and it won't win them this game either. If they can muster 3 npc and close to 100 yards rushing, I think that'll be fine.

I know lots of you hate Saban, but this is the correct way to handle these things.

I can't see Long "totally" shucking the run game. He'll have a mixed game plan again, looking for that one moment where Dexter or Jafar breaks a big one to further open up the short passing game that Book has handled quite well this year. Go Irish!

Has anyone questioned Clemson as to why this drug miraculously ended up in 3 players and not just 1?

I think the most likely scenario is that there’s a systemic problem at Clemson with their injury rehabilitation program or less likely, the program at large. IIRC these three all suffered some sort of injury during fall camp and were likely using a substance with Ostarine in it. The counter factual, that these theee just so happened to randomly have a “hair gel” or even a tainted supplement all on their own during the season is just completely bullshit. I really hope when it’s said and done a proper investigation goes on and we get to the bottom of this

I don't disagree - ND has to run the ball to some extent.

But looking back at that game in 2015, I remember thinking to myself that ND should have adjusted to a pass heavy offense earlier in the game once they realized they couldn't get much done on the ground. It may have changed the outcome of the game.

Even this year, the teams who played Clemson close, TAM, Syracuse, and South Carolina (didn't keep it close but played well on offense), attacked them with the pass more than the run. I think ND may be better served doing the same IF they're being held to less than 4 ypc through the first quarter/mid-way through the second quarter.

So no one has actually asked Dabo, Clemson AD, or these players about the "coincidence"?

Hair Gel makes me laugh. Maybes it's what all the kids these days use but I didn't know one of my black teammates to ever use hair gel.

Personally I don't want them to totally abandon the run (I don't think LAX is saying that either). We're just saying our traditional mix/balance is not going to work. Use the short pass early and often, and that will open up the run and longer pass later. Make it easy on the OL, and let Book get comfortable and in a rhythm. Let the DL wear down a little trying unsuccessfully getting after the quick release, and then run. When we do run early, don't do anything that takes long to develop, and attack the perimeter, or use a bit of misdirection.
