Hinish channeled his inner Zorich for sure.

Heard BK on Dan Patrick this morning. When asked about a game plan if they meet in the ACCCG, BK said it won't be different game plans. Both teams will just make some adjustments.

How good has the kick coverage unit been this season? It feels like every opponent drive starts at their own 10.

Other gems from this whiner on Tigernet. This dude is blaming the official for Etienne going out of bounds on the last possession of regulation.

is our worst loss since LSU beat us in the National Championship game. The only difference between the two is that we lost to LSU due to poor play calling, but we lost to Notre Dame because of poor officiating. Without those crappy officials from Saturday we would have beaten Notre Dame by 30+ points.

By the end we had 150 lb team managers playing on the OL.

lost. They got away with PI calls, they had a long pass that clearly hit the ground, they got a defensive touchdown that didn't break the plane, they got a gift of the clock being stopped on our final possession, they committed holding all night without it being called. That game was stolen from our Tigers.

After the refs tried to gift wrap the game for Dabo in the 4th quarter it’s pretty funny to see someone complain about them being “unfair” to Clemson.

Ha - I have had several come to me and tell that the DPI that was picked up was a great call AND that it should have actually gone the other way. That the ND receiver pushed off on the DB to get open to begin with...

I see that you live in South Carolina, so I'm not surprised people have told you that.

It's been a fun day. I expected a lot of excuses based on the players that did not play, but I have been surprised at how many are blaming the refs for the loss. Yeah, they were bad, but they were bad both ways.

Lolol that's gold.

My favorite is the guy suggesting they'd have won by 30+ with better officiating.

They couldn't run the ball. They allowed ND to run the ball. Notre Dame left plenty of points on the field. And last but not least, they gave up a 90+ yard drive in under 2 minutes to force OT.

Quit whining.

Many takeaways already mentioned but I'll echo them as my own:

-Kyren, wow. Dude runs and blocks like a man on fire. I love it.
-Book's last drive to tie the game. I thought it was over. He stepped up and should be remembered as a legendary QB for ND.
-Our defense against the run. Can't draw it up any better than that.
-The fact that we left so many points on the board and still won gives me so much hope that we could beat any team in the country right now.
-Fantastic coaching by BK, Lea, and Rees
-Looking forward to the rematch and it being against Lawrence. All other things equal, I think ND will need to be better in the redzone, but still have all the tools to beat them again.

It's hard to imagine beating Clemson twice and then having to beat OSU and Bama to win a title. But this team seems more than up to the challenge.

I couldn't access this site for a week due to security certificate issues from the site. Wish I could have been on here for the glorious victory.

Was the ref responsible for Etienne's 29 total yards on the ground?

I don't think should qualify as a drop. I thought it was a really good defensive play.

Agreed. Would have and almost was a spectacular catch.
Love baby Gronk but hit drop at 2 cost us and the false start at the 2 with 3rd and inches. Irish will need him the next time and I think he delivers

There is a thread about this. Mods are working on resolving it. It should be fixed now.

Just to add a bit to what Cack said here, in the future if there are certificate issues, you should be able to bypass your browser's warning UNLESS you are on a network (like at work) that will block you from using any uncertified website.

Hopefully this doesn't continue being an issue, but in the event that it is, you can work around it.

What would be super amusing, is if ND loses to Clemson in a competitive title game. Makes it to the playoff, and to play them for a 3rd time lol

What a roller coaster of emotions that game was. I thought it was over when the refs inexplicably picked up the PI flag when the DB ran through Skowronek's back and then he dropped the next pass, but the defense made enough plays to keep us in it late.

Books last drive was pure magic, and he deserves a personal apology from every naysayer on this board, IMO.

Kyren Williams....cannot say enough about that young man. His blitz pickups were SO on point on Saturday, he is just an unbelievably talented, well rounded back.

Von has really stepped up this past month and looks like a bona fide #1 WR.

I really don't buy into anyone saying there is an asterisk next to this win; ND executed a perfect game plan: Stop Etienne and make their offense one dimensional. It wasn't perfect defensively but it got the job done. Does anyone really believe that Lawrence would have put up a better stat line than DJ U did? 436 yards, 3 total TDs and no TOs? Hard to top that performance. And they aren't the only ones battling injuries and CV absences. We are down our top to WRs arguably and have had to operate with guys who otherwise wouldn't be playing as much, but they have really stepped up and are improving every week. Credit the coaches for said development and Book for continuing to build that rapport with those boys.

If we get another shot, I agree with other posters I like our chances simply because we shot ourselves in the foot throughout the game and still pulled it out. Mayer made two critical mistakes early with the false start penalty on the goal line and the ensuing drop at the goal line that would have been a TD. He made up for it in a big way late in the game (as we all figured he would, he's a baller), but man I thought we were doomed after settling for so many FGs.

I love this squad. They aren't in any way perfect, but they are a gritty, hard playing bunch with no quit in them. The coaching staff proved a lot of people wrong, myself included.

I *ucking love ND and am so happy they finally pulled of a big one in my lifetime. 20 years of fandom, I finally got to see them conquer a giant. Finally. I'm still on cloud 9.

That's all gents. Rant over. So unbelievably hype after Saturday.

I didn't even realize til now that Ettiene's first carry of the game was 13 yards. After that carry, he had 17 carries for a total of 15 yards.

Anyone got a link to highlights with radio calls instead of NBC? I always enjoy the radio calls more.

Like others I haven’t been able to access the site for a few days, but dang what a game! I heard someone on the radio saying the Clemson QB May be the third best QiB in the country behind Lawrence and Fields. Kid is going to be scary but I loved taking Etienne out of the game. This was my favorite win since FSU in 93. Damn Im pumped. Wish I was here with you all.

Damn it...they should have never let go of Tony Roberts. He was spot on with what he said back then before he was let go, people just didn't want to hear it. Can you imagine him calling this Clemson game?

Best tidbit from the Irish Illustrated pod today was Tim O’Malley recounting what his neighbor told him. His neighbor was watching the ND game w/ his friend who happens to be deaf. Since the friend is such a great lip reader he translated what Etienne was saying to his coach: “they’re (ND) just hitting too hard”.

NOTE: or something to that effect...I’m going by memory but it was a great insight.

Our shipment of Ostarine finally came in.

That's great to hear! The more physical team not only wins in the trenches (and wins the game), but they also tend to achieve a psychological edge on the competition. If you're getting plastered during a game many players mentally shut down or lose some motivation.
