There is a lot of time before LOIs start being sent. II will be big for ND ... Hopefully he will remember what made him commit the first time.

Rivals 5 star challenge is this weekend so quite a few updates from ND targets. Beal being one.

He told Rivals that he'll "for sure" be at ND for II. He plans to workout at the event. (I love prospects that like to compete at events like this. Far too many think they are above it, as they already have the scholarship offer.) ND will also be getting an OV. Noted that Bama is also very much in the mix. Mom is real happy that he is reconsidering ND.

Oh please, Oh please! My biggest want for this class. Bring ALL the defensive play makers!

I just don't trust BVG to make it happen. BK is going to have to carry the load to make this happen. Give him the Hilliard treatment.

As Mike Frank bluntly said on his podcast, "ND currently has a credibility problem with defensive recruits".

No disrespect to the BVG bashers out there, but he's still yet to visit II right? I'd say if ND were to jump those teams, it'd be there, not now. The fact that we're in the conversation after being completely out of the discussion just a month or so ago is reassuring enough to me. Still work to be done.

Bravo. I like this post. He's coming to II. This is good. If he wasn't interested in ND, he wouldn't be coming. He's a 17/18 year old kid. All these specialist/analysts regarding recruiting....yes they may know some things about certain players recruitments. They don't know what this kid wants, where he wants to go or the dynamics of their families. I think we weigh WAY too much on what those sites say. They get paid to make a story even where there isn't a story. All ND can do is try. That's it. It's a phenomenal school with A+ football and A+ academics.

Good posts but it's hard not to call BVG a terrible recruiter because it's true. We finally got to see him on an airplane last year to visit recruits. Not saying he hadn't prior to that but it's obvious that he hates the recruiting aspect of CFB.

I have an issue judging how good a recruiter BVG is, because we really don't know how he's being used. He doesn't have his own region to recruit, which seems really odd to me. With his ties in the south, you'd think Elston/Kelly would have him down there permanently, but nope.

Also, I haven't seen anything that indicates that he "hates recruiting" as you put it. Sorry, but if he was stubborn in his stance to not recruit, then I can't see Kelly keeping him on board even this long. He had to have known that recruiting would be a big part of his job when he came aboard.

Not sure I agree. If he enjoys his visit and has good things to say, I see us getting in the top five, but left to brag about coming in 2nd or 3rd place when he announces.

I think we have a real shot here to land him again. One if he wasn't highly considering us then why make a return trip and reach out to us? His mom is also in our corner and grandma lives in South Bend. ESPN can say all they want but I would put my money on the Irish right now.

I don't see any reason to think we aren't in the top 5 now. He probably wouldn't be coming here if we weren't. I'd say we're behind UGA and Bama, and possibly FSU (depending on how his visit goes). I could very easily see us jump all three if II goes as well as possible.

I'm reserving judgment until I hear back about his visit and what the timetable's gonna be (but I'm gutless, so there's that). ND can set themselves up very well with Beal with a favorable visit.

I don't trust BVG with recruiting period. If this comes down to wire I'd like to see BVG pull a Diaco move in landing Ishaq.

I would like to see him do something

Has BVG landed a big name since he's been here??

He was involved w/ Hilliard and if I remember correctly he has his picture with Caleb Kelly.

It would be nice if we have a DC that recruited.

He had nothing to do with Hilliard he botched the recruitment and BK took it over, Caleb Kelly was Stanford and Denbrock

according to loy's source who has been spot on with this recruitment stated a SERIOUS personal issue which wasn't expanded upon had Beal heading back to IMG and his trainer heading back to georgia. this cut his fsu visit short...this source MAINTAINS he will VISIT in July.-247
