Anyways, in his post he said that he had people that he trusted completely saying that the BoT were PISSED at BK for everything that went down with the Eagles, and they predicted that they would hold it against Kelly come contract time. A lot of people scoffed at his post at the time, but now, he sounds prophetic.
Swarbrick has already shown time after time that he will take care of things. I expect him to take care of this.
All signs point to "Not Up To Swarbrick"
I think a lot of you are getting worked up over nothin. Relax. Enjoy the season. Coaches and players have busted *** this summer.

what can we cone up with today?
I believe that an accurate height of Brian Kelly would be 5'10".
If, and only if Bob Diaco is 6'1" to 6'2"!
Diaco is 6'1" but 6'2" post hair gel application
If, and only if Bob Diaco is 6'1" to 6'2"!
Intriguing....
Are we talking shoes on or off?
If Notre Dame has another good/big year AND BK leaves right after because the admin wouldn't do what it takes to hold onto him... AFTER the previous four coaches...
well, if that happens, I'd seriously have to re-evaluate love affair/passion in this whole thing...
What would be the point of investing so much if the admin. is that self defeating... just the thought is frustrating.
Like the mystical stones of Rollright megalithic circle, Diaco's numbers are immeasurable. .... except by Diaco himself.
THAT ought to be weird enough to firmly derail the thread.
... The last coach to use ND as a stepping stone to a possibly better job (NFL) was Kuharich in '58, and for Joe the writing was kind of on the wall as people were calling for his head. Every other coach has either been fired or retired/stepped down for health reasons. ...
That said...if Kelly was gone in a hypothetical situation because the school didn't try to retain him...I'd still be a fan regardless. If the school continued down the path of mediocrity on the field, or fell to a perennial doormat like Indiana, I certainly wouldn't be as passionate about the Irish or devote as much time as I do now, but I'd still be a fan. I often wonder how fans of these teams ante up each season and commit 110% to following their team? Just seems like a waste of your time if you're only good for 1-4 wins each year. It's one thing to be competitive every 3-4 years, it's another thing if you haven't had a coach go .500 since the 30s.
That was my point, not that I'd stop being a Notre Dame guy, just that I'd have to pull back... I think I would view this whole thing as the school not being serious about winning, hard to be so passionate about that.
Makes sense.

Kuharich didn't use the ND HC position as a stepping stone to the NFL. He was the '55 NFL Head Coach of The Year, 5 years before coming to ND.
He was an NFL assistant coach with Pittsburgh in '47.
NFL Chicago Cardinals HC in '52. Served one year in that position and became a free lance NFL scout.
Hired as Washington Redskin HC '54 - '60. Won NFL Coach of The Year in '55 with an 8-4 season.
He stepped down at ND before he got fired and subsequently returned to the NFL as the Head of Officials, hardly a step up.
In '63 he was hired by the Eagles as HC with a 15 year contract. The Eagles new owner in '69 bought out his contract. He had one winning season with the Eagles.
