I love Lost in Space. It keeps the touchy feely soap opera portion of the show in check enough for me to enjoy the production and special effects. It's big screen / big budget looking. That's what turns me off with so much of today's binge-able sci/fi it's lo/fi.

Did anyone see Shot Caller? Really liked that too. One of the Game of Thrones' stars is the lead. It's sorta B movie-ish but it has some legit prison scenes a good cast including Cheddar Bob and Keith Jardine. This movie would have been a 10 if you add $10M to the production and get a 15 year younger Viggo Mortenson... which is what the Jaime Lanister guy is. Has an Eastern Promises meets American History X vibe.

Started the Witcher with mama last night. Enjoyed E1, fell asleep during E2. She stayed up to 4am and was raving about it but she's a GOT's fan so I guess.

Oh... and what's with Superman channeling his inner Carl from Slingblade with the guttural Mmmmmm's all the time? It's like it's an inside joke.

I know Crusader blocked me, but he nailed it with this take. Shot Caller Is a man's movie.

I've recently finished S2. I thoroughly enjoyed S1 but most of S2 didn't really do it for me. And it might partially be because I enjoyed S1 so much. Would be hard to top that.

It got really far fetched for me but it kept me interested

It's a premise that's hard to have multiple seasons of. I watched some with the s/o last night before we both passed out.

The Witcher I thought was great. The only difficult thing is keeping up with their timelines which jump around without much forewarning, but I imagine that won't be such an issue going into season 2 because it seems it was all lining up to tell us the story of Ciri, Geralt, and Yenn coming together.

You'll love the fighting and monsters, your girl will love Henry Cavill.

was a pretty crazy and disturbing series.

That facebook group reminded me of a Head Coaching search how people track down which plans are flying to which cities and where families are looking for homes.

Finished Witcher last night,... I imagine it was a difficult follow for those who haven’t read the books. I assume it becomes more linear in season 2.

Watched Lawless (2012) with Tom Hardy, Jason Clarke, Shia LaBeouf and Jessica Chastain. Based on a true story of three brothers bootlegging back in the days of prohibition.

From Rotten Tomatoes.....Lawless is the true story of the infamous Bondurant Brothers: bootlegging siblings who made a run for the American Dream in Prohibition-era Virginia. In this epic gangster tale, inspired by true-life tales of author Matt Bondurant's family in his novel "The Wettest County in the World", the loyalty of three brothers is put to the test against the backdrop of the nation's most notorious crime wave

Yes sir. Good one.

I watched 6 Underground and enjoyed it. I think you just have to sit back and enjoy it for what it is and not try to read very deep into it.

In 2007, a Polish company (CD Projekt Red) started releasing games based on Sapkowski's books. In 2015, they released the 3rd installment in the series, which is (imo) the greatest game ever made. Cavill's take on the White Wolf is a dead ringer for that version of Geralt.

Unsure who it was related to the show but they confirmed S2 of The Witcher will be easier to follow as, like you said, the characters will be spending a lot more time together in the same timeline.

Definitely. Geralt's storyline in each episode in S1 came from a stand-alone short story by Sapkowski, but it was super condensed because they also had to fit in Yennefer's backstory and Ciri's flight from Cintra. For instance, in the short story that episode 1 was based on, Renfri and her band of thugs were going to kill everyone in the Blaviken market to get at Stregobor. So Geralt's intervention literally saved the town, but the townsfolk didn't understand the context, so they tried to stone him and ran him out of town. Did a great job of showing how hated and misunderstood Witchers are, why Geralt's the way he is, etc.

But that story was so condensed in the first episode that it wasn't clear why Geralt returned to stop Renfri. Still loved it (especially that sword fight, which was the best fight choreography I've ever seen in a TV show), and I understand why they felt the need to cram in as much backstory as possible in S1 to bring the main players together; but I think S1 would have been even better with less Yenn and Ciri, and more monster hunting procedural with Geralt.

I don't love the actress who's playing Yenn either, but they nailed Geralt, Ciri and Dandelion. Also "Toss A Coin to Your Witcher" bops:

Just watched A Marriage Story. It was great, and deserves all the accolades I'm sure it's getting, but as an attorney I wanted to crawl into myself and die. It's like watching a frog in water being brought to a boil for 2 hours.

That sword fight scene was amazing. Glad it wasn’t just me that thought it was that good.

Delayed watching Witcher for Messiah. Watched the first 3 eps yesterday/last night. Great stuff so far. Very solid cast and story line thus far. It even has one of the hotties from Fauda playing and Israeli cop's wife (Rona-Lee Shim'on). Hope she has a bigger part in the remaining eps. Tomer Sisley is great as well (first time seeing him), and have always loved John Ortiz.

Just finished Messiah and I liked it but was disappointed with the lack of answers by the end of the season

I'm through E5 I think. Love it so far. Getting ready to do another before I hit the pillow.

I'd rather them leave me with Qs (setting up S2), than end on silly dumb existential crap.

Man... The Witcher is so good. I'm 4 episodes in and I had to force myself to go to sleep after starting it around 8pm last night. They really don't hold back on the magic/politics and other things that would confuse people and I love that.

Also, I'm glad it is "R" rated (or whatever the TV equivalent is) because trying to do the Witcher as a PG-13 type show would definitely not work as well.

Can't believe no one's talking about this.

3 seasons into "Breaking Bad". It's slow but fantastic. Extremely well written and there are some great characters.
