If we win, I'll sacrifice myself for the freedom of all.

Permaban me in lieu of freeing Pat, Cack, Buster, and the rest of the jailbirds.

Cack set himself free and is enjoying life on the outside lol.

Could be ... or just our former troll, trolling a new audience during lulls in city council meetings.

VERY TRUE. Good point.

Surprised he ever had so much time on his hands as a government employee..

I used to wonder how GoIrish41 kept his job with all his 9 to 5 posting. Then he revealed he was a government employee.

I worked for a county government for about 6 months. I was written up over taking work home at night ( I carried my lunch in a briefcase), meeting taxpayers during lunch hour, on break time, and after business hours in our offices (when the taxpayers could get there). I was told there had been complaints registered by co-workers. I was making the other county workers look bad.

If you post in the comment section of a Fox or CNN article you are purely insane. There’s no way around it.

I work for the government.

60 or 70 hour weeks is not uncommon. .Most stressful but rewarding job I've ever done.

But yeah, it's fun to slam on government workers because they dont want to work on their lunchtime.

I've seen the same stuff in both gov jobs, and in the union workforce. It's really, truly, sad.

My father was a state auditor for 20+ years, and he experienced the same thing. When he started, he did twice the audits of his peers. He was then told to slow down. He didn't... So they went from a work-when-ready environment to a round robin assignment of audits. When that happened, he was done between noon and 2pm every day. He ended up doing work on the side in the afternoons. Total waste of taxpayer money.

In my early days of managing work centers for a fortune 10 company, I was grieved multiple times from the union for rewarding top performing groups and centers, and creating an environment of competition lol. On one occasion, I bought pizza for a group that was killing it 2Qs in a row. When I met with the union rep, they told me I had to cease, or buy pizza for all groups regardless of performance. I told them I was going to cease, and go announce to the division that I could not longer treat teams to pizza because the union said so... I got up and walked out only to be followed with a "well hold on" lol... That same situation happened multiple times and finally only the union VP would step foot in my office. The union leadership threw a party when I got promoted to INTL lol.

And lastly, I'm friends with a guy who dates a public school teacher. She has raised the performance of her classes more than anyone in the district, maintains fantastic stats, and is known for holding kids and parent accountable. She has been told on several occasions she needs to slow down because she's making others look bad. From talking to her (she's in her 20s), half the teachers hang out at the pub down the street almost every night till midnight or later, and simply don't give a F.

Pitiful..

Nobody is saying all gov workers suck. My dad was a great one. What I am saying, and what I think BGIF is saying, is that gov in a lot of cases doesn't foster a competitive environment, and can be very wasteful in a lot of situations. In other situations, they totally overwork, under-staff, and underpay. Bottom line, it's a bit rare to find a gov agency that performs well and is efficient from top to bottom.

If we win tonight, I will personally purge the banned list.

There was probably some point in the last two minutes where you felt weirdly euphoric and wildly nervous? Kind of the IE Purge? LOL.

Cheers and Go Irish!!

I've seen that a couple times...have helped young folks get out of those places a few times ...it is disheartening. After being a support contractor most of my career, my view is...Much of local, state and federal government is set up to act like this...they are fixated on heads and annual budgets instead of tasks and action items...the result is a "we'll get to it tomorrow" mentality because the more you can put off, the more justification you have for next year's budget....there are rarely task based metrics...and when they can't get away from it on a given project...they hire contractors.

Looking at his past months posts didn't reveal any controversy to me.

He did open a thread about 2 weeks ago asking where to find out a list of the mods. There was only the one post in the thread.

That stinks. He was a good poster and I respected his opinions on CFB. Hope all is well with him and he returns soon.

Tom Haverford passed away from a brain aneurism after the debauchery that was Wiscy jail sexxing his boys.

I think he would have permanently ghosted us after the Ohio State game. Or the Florida game. But definitely after the Wisconsin game.

If King Khaki pulls it off this weekend he might as well be the Night's King resurrecting the Army of Undead Walmart Shoppers... 'harvard' undoubtedly among them....

You can really get perma'd for that? Maybe not politically correct, but it's certainly within the realm of reasonable opinion.

I would prefer to point out that Finke should sit and Drew White is settling at LB. Not generally impressed with Hinish either but I think we have weaknesses all over.

NDOM was amusing and hopefully can return along with PHORK before too long. I’m guessing this wouldn’t be his second chance.
