Not that I know or care what color the rep is, I get passive aggressive green reps. It happens and it pisses me off. Not that its just a rep but to insult someone in a green rep is straight up bitch.

Right, if you're going to take the effort to find a workaround to the filters just to insult someone, don't be a PAB about it.

It sounds like you care what color the rep is, lol. Would you rather it be a neg rep?

Why should a nuisance mask their insults with a green rep, or try to be all passive-aggressive? If you're going to be a fool, go the full mile with the red rep and prepare for the fallout.

I'm just saying, I personally think IE allows too much public insulting. If you're going to be a jerk, do it privately. I don't care for public insults that are allowed, piled on, etc. The koon takes a stance against bullying 10 times out of 10.

I don't care for passive aggressive people at all. But best for the board to have it private rather than public IMO. If I were a mod (hah), insulting members publicly would not fly.

That's what makes the board entertaining.

I'm all for blaming Beau, but in this case, he's innocent. GB left a profanity-laced rep comment for Lax, who proceeded to give him a few days off. Unbeknownst to him, GB and I had just concluded a little heart-to-heart via PMs, and things were looking up. But Lax settled their side beef on his own.

Sully will return soon.

How could Lax tell?

So the bottom line is : no jerking off in public? But in private is fine?

I figured out about a year and a half ago that Mods can read any reps given.

Mind filling me in on that? Because I have no idea what you are talking about. Maybe I am missing something, but I have never read a single rep other than the ones given to me directly.

He's right. If you go to the Mod site it's possible.

U can't... Unless something got changed up in Admin. I can't imagine wanting to read someone else's reps anyways.

It's necessary so that we can edit or delete offensive rep comments. But it requires going to a separate site, logging in again, looking up a specific poster, and navigating several menus in order to see them. I can't speak for the other mods, but I pretty much only do it when requested since it's such a pain in the ass.

Who dropped the hammer on GB: An analysis.

None of the new mods have the political capital to drop the hammer on a long time poster. Plus, gk and cacky have puppy nuts and wouldn't dare.

Ironman is way too patient. He will put up with the trolling, the passive aggressiveness, and the incoherence because at times GB brings good knowledge.

Lax likes to scrap too much. He didn't rammer jammer yellow hammer GB because it puts him out a sparing buddy.

Whiskey and Beau. Beau and Whiskey. These are the two I'm looking at. The time of day seems odd for whiskey out west to be patrolling but one easy way under his skin is antiND trolling which GB was famous for. On the other hand, Beau is known to have a quick trigger finger but he usually just mops threads and wags his finger.

But, the default is always to blame Beau.

Beau! 'Splain yourself and perhaps get thanked by some.

Damnit, Beau.

It was me, in the kitchen, with the candelabra.

As whiskey said, not permanent, just a timeout. He'll be back soon if he so chooses. You're never going to get banned for snark or insults... but when intentionally work around the profanity filter to leave a rep for someone telling them to "shut the fuck up" you're going to get a couple days off to think about why you're doing stuff like that.

Bahaha. The default really is to always blame me, huh?

GB and I go back. Like all my friends, I'm willing to tell him what I really think, but you're right in that I try to simply wag my finger rather than ban or suspend someone. (It's good to know people are worried about me swinging the hammer though. They should be. Then I get to swing less and wag more.) I was wondering as much as you why he was banned when I checked the site this morning.

Good effort, but better luck next time, Detective Kane.

Why was that NDAlumNM guy permanently banned?

^ This

He went on a racist tirade saying he can't wait for the black population in America to take over and "enslave" the whites in the country. He also called someone a moron and said they went to community college. All this was in the politics thread.

Wow. I missed that.

That dude was a timebomb though. He came after me a couple years ago in a thread, then he took it to PM's, continued on, and refused to accept my apology based off a misunderstanding. It was like he started going even harder after I apologized.

Nobody cares what you think

Seriously though, I could not agree more. I've been on this board for a long time and it seems like it is far more confrontational now than it has ever been. Heck, people get blasted and piled on for beeing optimistic about ND football. People don't have to agree with every post they read ... they also don't have to attack folks for making them.

I was called a troll back in June for saying it's possible Golson played so well that he had a decision to make after this year with the NFL. I said it was unlikely, but possible. That's really not withholding context, lol. And one of the last mods I expected to defend me, stepped in and did.

I know, but this poster wasn't joking. He was actually mad that I said that and you could tell, lol.

I'll give you a hint, he's banned, lol. And Ironman stepped in and told him off.
