Well, everybody's correct about one thing or another here, but the reason that I don't like bad field conditions under any circumstances (if I think I have the better team) is that bad conditions statistically lower the number of points scored. That means that (on average) the games are "closer" and the margin of victory more susceptible to Odd Shit Happening. I don't want my superior team to lose a close game because of OSH. I've heard it in many sports: That team will win 9 out of 10 games with that other one, BUT not this time with what went on. I want Love and his buddies with good traction, so they can show what they can do. I want Moore and his buddies with good traction to show what they can do. I don't want some weird handslip from Carr just when the DB happens to get his feet right. etc etc

Ultimately it comes down to Carr. He has to have a "decent" game. He definitely doesn't have to be perfect. But we are trusting in a kid who didn't have a great fall camp to go into a raucous environment for his first start and we have zero clue on how he will actually respond.

Heinz Field in Yinzerland used to be way worse they would play multiple high schools games on Fridays, then Pitt on saturdays and then Steelers on sundays

Because it’s the least talked about factor on offense among the two teams, I agree that Miami may be surprisingly well at running the ball. They’re supposed to have one of the best, if not the best; OL in the nation & Fletcher is a big back that could wear down a defense.

ND’s front 7 better be able to get to Beck b/c bad field conditions can offset the advantage that ND’s elite CB have on new Miami WR. All they have to do is slip out of a break & it’s an easy pitch & catch.

I do have concerns about their running game. The combination of their good to very good O-Line against the unknown of our interior D-Line is my biggest fear.

I hold out some hope that maybe their O-Line looked better than they actually are because of Cam Ward’s incredible season he had.

Fisher is not nothing as an injury. TE is down to Raridon, Washington, and Larsen. No FB on the roster. TE4 would be an OL or another walk on in Garrity

EDIT: forgot the freshman Flanigan

Yeah I think we forget James Flanigan was a fringe top 100 recruit. He should be fine as a TE4.

Jamie at ISD has been adamant he would be playing this year the whole time. Even before Cooper was hurt in the playoffs

Definitely can see him as a better blocker than Larsen. Instead of 1 - 4, should be more of:

Raridon — Washington
Larsen —— Flanigan

Thought i recalled MF speaking highly of Henry Garrity at TE. Looked serviceable in the b&g.

Would love to see Will Black at te in obvious short yardage formations. When in doubt, throw a 5* at your problem.

What's concerning like someone mentioned is the Freshman DB's not ready yet, I don't think we can bank on Moore or Gray being healthy all year guys get banged up and might need to take a game off. I think in this situation Hobbs is first guy in, then Johnson can slide back to corner?

They will be rotated in later in the year, but they’re not ready now. Just gotta hope that Gray doesn’t get worn down by then.
