Culture and Defense travel well. I won't be shocked if the national narrative is akin to last year's road A&M game where ND is given "a chance," but ultimately no one picks against the home team. I had an epiphany that though this team has zero hold over from 2017, it is not forgotten. Thoughts and prayers to the Hurricanes. The Irish will roll and in devastating fashion. ☘️

I just don’t see Miami’s offenses doing much. I think they lost their top 5 or 6 most productive wide receivers. That’s a lot to replace, especially in week one.

But Carson Beck… seriously, is he even going to back from the injury?

I expect the stadium atmosphere to be an absolute hornet’s nest like it was in ‘17. Really need the OL to control the LOS in this one to give our starting QB, whoever that ends up being, time to settle in and get comfortable. Defense needs to do exactly what they have been great at and limit big plays. Make them march the field and buckle down in the red zone. FGs will not win this game for the Hurricanes.

ESPN FPI has them ranked 9th preseason. 2025 College Football Power Index - ESPN
Great respect by Vegas to have kept us a favorite through the summer with a brand new QB. That is the Freeman ATS effect.

Going to be a great test, in what will likely be the biggest Miami FL fan turnout since the last time our boys came to Miami Gardens for a road game.
Very much looking forward to it, and glad it is happening early and not later in the season when Beck will have better chemistry with his new teammates.

Who's all coming down for this one? I'll be in Section 120, tailgating in the blue lots beforehand.

Some interesting crossover in this game. Shaun Davis' favorite player Justin Scott will be lining up against our OL. Gonna keep a close eye on that. The TE room for Miami has some ND ties. Alex Bauman is Kevin's little brother, Carver and Schott were two Indiana kids some people wanted ND to go after.

In 2017 you can see Miami was playing with the "Catholics vs Convicts" mantra on their mind where ND was just going through the motions. I think this year, the Irish will be more entrenched in the past rivalry.

They’re banking on a lot of transfers. Same thing with the DBs. Allllll transfers. Good freaking luck

Anybody know a good Miami message board? Want to monitor what they're saying about their team in fall camp

That was an absolute waste of time. Some ignorant folks posting over there. I think Miami has a helluva chance to win. I think Beck will need to be clean, low pressure, then he can deliver with enough time and boost their chances.

They seem to think J. Love is vastly overrated by....everyone. They think he's weak ;) and not fast enough to beat "real athletes". They really like the fact that we'll have a first time starter at QB. I particularly like their green and orange brand of vitriol, can't wait for the game!

surprised Miami fans post on a forum about football when over half the seats at hard rock are usually empty

Some ND fan posted on their forum. Here was a UM fans reply. lol
Yeah, that was me, lol. I am a big believer in the Lou style. He would make the little sisters of the poor sound like the 85 Bears. I would much rather talk up an opponent and highlight their strengths than puff out your chest and say how great you are. I won't mention who, but we did have an Irish person on one of Miami's shows this off-season and he very much talked up how great the Irish were. I had to balance it out in the football universe :)
