Hilarious that a Miami fan is talking schedule with us. How many ranked teams did you guys beat last year? Zero. You lost 3 of your last 4. You've got one ranked win in the last 3 years and it's to an A&M team that later collapsed and fired their head coach. Your confidence is built around a QB that Georgia cast off for a first time starter, along with a 2017 game where you stomped Big Game Brain Kelly, no surprise there. That 2017 ND team was fresh off a 2016 debacle, one of ND's worst seasons of all time. It wasn't that impressive of a win, especially since Miami lost 3 of their next 4 games again that year (I'm sensing a pattern...)

This isn't 2017. ND has a lot more talent, much better coaches, better culture, and experience. Miami has some transfers, but they're the same mediocre team more or less that ended 2024 with a string of losses. It's highly unlikely Miami can win this game on their own, they're going to need ND to trip on their dick to have a chance. If ND comes out and plays mistake free, you have no shot.
When he starts out with I come in peace, you knew he was going to post some BS.

I just perused one of their sites. In their prediction thread. All but one is picking Miami, which I get, but the vast majority have them winning by 14 or more. Lol

They also think they are better at every position group except LB.

Across the board or just on defense?

A common thread is Miami fans expect to win because Carr is inexperienced yet also expect to win because of a bunch of unproven guys they have like Malachi Toney and Jordan Lyles

They think throwing a bunch of transfer DB's together is all of a sudden going to make their secondary better. Also they don't have a WR on their team who would even start at USC.
I think their defense will either A dare Carr and stack the box or you will see them throw a bunch of exotic blitzes at Carr with their DB's, I was watching some film of Minn defense last year they blitz their DB's a lot. This is why I wouldn't be surprised if we do a lot of 2 back sets, have one back blocking and let the other flare out for a wide open pass.

OSU is undergoing a huge rebuild. Tons of talent but light on experience. I’ll finally give coaching props to Day if he can beat Texas.
They also replaced both Kelly at OC and Knowles at DC.
I dont think that Hartline and Patricia (?) are up to that level for game 1 v Tejas.

And Eff Michigan.

RB Jordan Lyle is experienced, 400 yards 4 TDs as a freshman last year. The WR, Malachi Toney, is a freshman and is not experienced. The slot WR is a big component of the OC's, Shannon Dawson, offense. Toney beat out a Will Pauling equivalent for the slot role so all eyes are on him.

400 yards is not experienced enough to act like Miami can sniff NDs RB room is the issue.

Toney is not practicing well enough to think he can beat Devonta Smith consistently

I hope it was just rumors or from back in the 80s but please tell me your fan base has enough class to refrain from throwing bottles of urine & other items at Irish fans?

I think ND fans are a bit too confident in RB room dominance because of our depth. I do think J. Love is being downplayed or picked apart by Miami in a way that contrasts to all other national analysts/talent evaluators.

From the sounds of it, Toney has been excellent through fall camp and I'm sure he'll be a worthy opponent. I think Miami's RB room is probably the best or one of the best we'll see in the regular season. No shade from me on that front. We have to shut down or minimize the Hurricane ground game first and foremost.

So much digital ink spilled comparing units (I've done it), players, offense vs. defense, etc. Anxious and excited for Sunday night.

It’s a top 2 RB room in the country running behind an OL returning 4 starters. I think the excitement is very much justified.

Their last home game against us being 2017 has definitely given them a sense of invincibility against the Irish at Hard Rock. Can't necessarily blame them, that game was singularly miserable as an ND fan (only challenged by the 2019 Michigan game for me). But I also think they're gonna be shocked at how different this team looks than BK coached teams in hostile environments.

Canes fans at the Shamrock Series game in Chicago in 2012 were throwing popcorn and hot chocolate cups at ND fans throughout the third quarter.

It was after the ass-kicking had commenced, but before they had fully given up hope, so I guess they were feeling frisky lol

Granted, there’s always isolated incidents that don’t represent an entire fanbase; but I have yet to hear anything classy or respectful about Miami fans. But that’s assuming they bother showing up. Sounds like the only games they attend are when the opponent is ND, UF or FSU.
