I'm very okay with this.

so Clemson jumps us if they be NC State next weekend?

Maybe. Depends on how each team looks. In 2015 we went from 4th to 6th after we barely beat a 3-9 BC team. I think we need to beat Wake and Navy pretty handily and just win over Miami and Stanford. If we do that, I think we'll be fine.

Irish just needs to win out and worry about the opponents right now. The end of the season is still 1/3 away.

AP has us as #5. At least it's better than the coach's poll. Still hard to believe that we are ranked lower than Wisconsin. Their schedule is a joke.

Ohio State lost bad to a team that lost to Iowa State and has one good win over an overrated PSU team. That win was a comeback win where they were far from dominating.

ND loses by one to the likely 1 or 2 team in the country.

Makes sense that OSU is ahead of us.

CFP ranking is all that matters. Coaches poll is skewed based on conference love, AP is ridiculous with Wisc ahead of ND IMO. I feel certain the committee will have ND in the top 4. And UGA should be #1.

And I believe these rankings will have ND ticked off playing with a nasty streak.

LMFAO at the coaches' poll...bunch of conference homer drones. God clearly wasted testicles on some of these clowns...If you picked ND at worse than 6, you can sit down to pee...bitch.

Does the coaches poll reveal how coaches voted? If so, where did BK rank us? Believe it or not, we're sitting pretty good in both polls. As long as we win out, we'll be in good shape as some of the teams ahead of us should lose before the end of the season.

This is going back to the Saban rat poison comment.

Media means nothing at this point except selling papers and boosting pride before the fall.

ND needs to keep the blue collar mentality and keep on keeping on instead of worrying what the pencil neck geek writers are saying and for that matter, so do we.

No. They went public when Kiffin lied about how he voted for USC years back, but that's the only reason they will.

It's embarrassing every time they release how coaches vote. Every single coach ranks themselves much higher and does the same with all of their opponents and conference members. James Franklin famously had us #10 in the final coaches poll in '12, which at that time, we were #1 in the AP. His had his Vandy team above us and all SEC in the top 5. It's a stupid, stupid exercise and I don't know why anyone continues it.

I think TECHNICALLY the Coaches could award the trophy to a team other than the one that wins the CFP.

What trophy? The CFB Playoff trophy? No they can't.

They could all gather in the crawlspace in Koon's basement and wittle their own little "Coaches Trophy" and award it to whatever SEC loses to us, but it would still be meaningless.

The Coaches Trophy is the crystal football. As a trophy, it's way better than the CFP's golden vagina.

If you take a look at the coaches that vote, many would probably understand why they have the Irish ranked 8th. Out of the 65 coaches that vote, there are probably 20-25ish of them that have animosity against the Irish.

Coaches Poll is just for media purposes and everyone in football knows that. AP poll is a little less biased. Neither makes a damm. The big bowl poll is composed of a smaller set of pretty hard working evaluators who feel a lot of pressure to get it right --- WAY different atmosphere in the room, and eyeball-to-eyeball with one another. In 2015 they were VERY enamored of ND, which irritated outsiders. It was pretty clear that we were going to be "in" without a late slip.

But even if you look at the AP poll, we're in amazingly good shape. The #1 and #2 teams must play one another to have a chance to stay up there, and the #3 and #4 teams have to do the same --- that's TWO of the frontrunners who will lose. If we keep winning --- and everyone knows we have no cupcakes scheduled --- that sounds like we ascend to #3. This is, in fact, what I expect if WE do our part.

This doesn't give who voted where, but it does show a hi/low from the last poll in 2012... Someone actually voted us as low as 22.
