They are hardly ever just a filler on the hat table. If they are on the table, they are a contender usually. My hats off to what Coach Saban has done in Tuscaloosa.

Maybe if Gaines changes positions. Otherwise, with Barnett, Cornwell, and Hurts at QB, I think Gaines will look elsewhere.

Does anyone know what happened with this guy? I mean going from being recruited as a QB at places like ND, Alabama, and Florida State to ending upsigning at Marshall? He must have done something off the field.

when kids end up at Marshall you always presume it's academics. they have some sort of setup in place there, like a prep school to enable them to take academically borderline kids and hope they qualify. I forget the specifics but it's why they always get highly rated kids

Not to mention, their offense is very QB-friendly when they've got the right guy in place.
