Getting close to the time for his shot at the Triple Crown. Normally I like the change to win more money; but I think he'll do it. Wicked Strong is getting a lot of support, but I think Chrome will be a Champion.

Plus.. I remember seeing on this board that 8 out 11 Triple Crowns came on years where ND won an NC.

I was rooting for that bottle of glue.

Still a great horse, though the 3 year old class this year was weak.

The triple crown is freaking hard with 3 races in 5 weeks, just not enough time to recover. On top of that they put the most grueling race of 3 at the end. At a mile and a half Belmont is massive for a horse racing track the distance is a huge challenge especially with the fatigue of the other races built in.

I was at the Belmont Stakes yesterday. It was certainly disappointing that California Chrome couldn't pull it off (though a friend of mine won with Tonalist and sprung for dinner). Enjoyable day overall, though extremely crowded---much more so than the last time I was at the Belmont in 2005. Luckily we had a great vantage point near the finish line. As they say, there's always next year.
