I had the Naboo Starfighter and Darth Maul's ship back in the day when I was little and Ep I had just come out.

I know I didn't pay for them (nor was I concerned about price points lol), but I know they were way cheaper back then. Inflation on Legos is absurd.

I never had a Lego set when I was a kid, but I don't recall if it's because I wasn't interested or my parents didn't love me. I've come onto them very recently as an adult. It's good for your brain.

That's actually a myth. Sets are more complicated, so there are more pieces per set than there used to be, but the price-per-piece has been fairly stable at $0.10 per brick since 1980.

My Naboo starfighter was like $20 at Kmart back in the day.

I know the current edition is a bit more complex, but the extra figures and the landspeeder thing aren't worth the extra ~$35 IMO.

That set (LEGO 7141) was 179 pieces, 11 cents per piece. The 2015 set (LEGO 75092) was 442 pieces, 11 cents per piece.

And I got it half off at Target, so like 6 cents per piece.

I have this one... I believe it's the only SW one I have... though I do have a lot of figures randomly... I always wanted to collect these but prioritized other hobbies collections over the years.

Super Cool

Gonna use my 7-month old as an excuse to start collecting/building.

If I go that route, my wife will bitch way less on the money I spend.

And that Slave I is so dope. I need it.

Tried digging up some info on this but didn't find anything... got more of a scoop, Cack?

Not really. It was that the guy in RO that was present with Vader on Msutafar. Speculation I was reading was on who that guy was.

.

We all know Vader could have had one like Galen Marek.

So basically you're the villain of the LEGO movie.

If there is another reason to have kids I'm unaware of it.

Nah we have a big bucket of loose bricks that my daughter and I do "free play" with in addition to the sets. At $60 for 1,500 pieces, the 10654 XL Creative Brick Box is an amazing value.

OK now this is literally the plot of the LEGO Movie. I wish I could find the scene where he's like "these are daddy's... yours are over there in that corner."

Plus the Disney Castle and various non-licensed sets. You need to know how to get them on clearance. I think the only set I paid full price for is the Slave I. And NEVER shop at Toys'r'us. Even on sale, they're more expensive than Target or the LEGO store.

I'm pretty disappointed they discontinued the generic pirates line, but they have some cool stuff coming out with the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I'll be picking up the Silent Mary if they release it in Disney Stores (and thus subject to my employee discount).

I can't rationalize buying Legos for myself but I buy them for my children. My 7yo has probably 30+ sets of Star Wars Legos by himself (and he built a Lego Star Destroyer by himself when he was 6). I only get to play with their Legos when they let me, which isn't all that often.

I really miss the old Castle sets. The Nexo Knights just don't do it for me.

I've got several from over the years. I've also got the Maul Sith Invader ship. Got Vader's TIE. X-Wing. Jango Fett Slave I. I SHOULD have had the really big Millenium Falcon set. Bought it on Ebay, but the dude stiffed me. $440, back when they were still that cheap (They go for a few times that now at least). Somehow in Ebay processing the dispute got closed and I couldn't get them to reopen it. All I could do was leave the guy a Neg unfortunately, and he got away with mail fraud. I know he screwed me over because he did the same thing to someone else, same set, 6 months later. Ebay finally shut his account down at that time. I still don't have my set or my cash back though.

I'm wondering if there is something wrong with SW EP 8 if they haven't released a trailer for it yet

They're waiting.

Star Wars Celebration The Ultimate Fan Experience - Star Wars Celebration - April 13-16, 2017

They're opening Celebration with a panel commemorating the 40th anniversary of A New Hope. There's a non-zero chance we get theatrical cuts of the Original Trilogy on Blu-ray and Digital HD. If they're included in Disney Movies Anywhere, I'll be at maximum hype levels.

I heard the same thing from a friend. The plan is to release the original versions, without Lucas' retroactive mistakes added in.

I have the AT-AT with Luke tow cabling up it to drop off a grenade. Was a fun build but I remember being disappointed as a kid because it was pretty much impossible to play with without falling apart.

This is really all I want. After they do this I can ignore everything else and be totally happy.. I just hope they do it right from a quality perspective.

I'll take it off your hands if you don't like it.

HUGE miss by Disney Consumer Products and LEGO to not release an AT-AT with the Rogue One line. I built the TIE Striker and U-Wing with my brother in-law and they're pretty cool, but not as cool as a UCS AT-AT would have been.

Next up in the UCS line is a snowspeeder.

Star Wars Celebration live streaming on YouTube.

Lets us know all the good shit they reveal

I've got two buddies that are there. They mostly went to buy the exclusive toys and collectibles for their own collections and to resell. Neither has a steady job anymore, they both just buy and sell collectibles as their business. One has two houses and four cars. I'm jealous.

John Williams just live-conducted Princess Leia' theme as a tribute to Carrie Fischer and now he's doing the Star Wars Fanfare. This is epic AF.
