Reminder that despite this being a "Spoilers" thread, you should still make the proper disclaimers if you actually psot something about the plot of the movie.

El wrong-o.

Obi-Wan had a girlfriend, and her name was Duchess Satine of Mandalore. Their relationship was shown in The Clone Wars and is canon.

You all need to #NerdUp.

Well done. I don't watch Clone Wars.

Though it's Grand Moff Tarkin looks better than the one in Rouge One.

Correct. If Rey is a Kenobi, she's OWK's granddaughter.

the spoilers I have read/seen kinda glossed over the Rey's lineage part or maybe I just didnt find it as interesting; the big part was the Skywalker lineage....If the '1-2 punch big reveal' is true, then I think possibly the 'Rey reveal' is punch one, and the 2nd punch is (paradigm shift) type of big reveal concerning the Skywalker lineage, and then the subsequent storyline after that (Episode 9).

the spoilers I have read...

This is the type of thing you should post with a SPOILER disclaimer and I would request making the text white.

That's Tarkin from Rebels, not Tarkin from Clone Wars.

You guys are really bad at this.

Like... are the animated things good? Because I love good star wars, but the animation always looked jank so I always assumed the story would be too.

not sure if this is directed at me, but I did consider putting some type of disclaimer for my last 2 posts in this thread. That being said, the things said about Luke/snoke I attempted to mask, I didnt come out what say exactly what I have read (I left out all of the detail on purpose). Ultimately I did not put a disclaimer on any post because the thread title has 'spoiler' in it. Also, I havent posted anything that isnt readily available to anyone to just look up.

Clone Wars is better. In my opinion, it's the definitive portrayal of Anakin. Rebels is very hit-or-miss. In general, you can watch the first episode, the mid-season finale, and the last two episodes of each season and get the good stuff.

Clone Wars was made by Lucas so there's definite value in that regard. My only complaints are 1) the opening movie and 2) the writers went way overboard on the Yoda-speak.

Spoilers for both: Maul is still alive and he has robot legs.

Just because you can look it up on reddit or wherever else doesn't mean it's not a spoiler. Most of us want to watch the movie knowing nothing about the plot besides what is in the trailers.

You can post it, just please use white text and a disclaimer if you do.

Any particular season worth watching or would you recommend the whole thing?

More than jank. Straight cheese.

I get what you mean, but I think most people see "Spoiler Thread" and think, "Oh I've seen all the movies, I'm good." I certainly don't enter this thread with the expectation that everyone will be talking about likely confirmed spoilers for a movie that won't be out for around 12 months.

Not posting this because you should actually read it for its content. But it's a fantastic example of how utterly terrible The Ringer is. The article doesn't even discuss why The Last Jedi is a good Star Wars title. And it doesn't say much of anything else either.

The Last Jedi’ Is a Good ‘Star Wars’ Title

Yeah the problem is he is not a great actor and you can't get away with him being in a movie for extended periods of time. There's a reason botox Carrie Fisher was in the movie sparingly.

Got to disagree here. Particularly his voicing talents for the Joker and all cartoons. Extremely talented. Plus how can w forget his seminal performance asn Cock -knocker

WAIT.

It just hit me when pondering the new title. Is "Return of the Jedi" plural!? I always read it as Luke returning to wreck Palps. Now that I'm Googling it, it seems that most people think it means the return of the (singular) Jedi, Anakin. Then a third interpretation takes it to mean the return of the Jedi (plural) in general, like the return of the Jedi order.

My mind is blown.

I never considered Anakin as the pivot for that title. I always considered it to be singularly Luke as he was the subject of the prophecy. I say this as Vader told Luke the Emperor forsaw Luke defeating him. But it wasnt in battle it was through redemption of Anakin.

I guess i should add that there were not other Jedi (that we are aware of) in the moves at the end of ROTJ. So i dont know how it could be plural in the absebncenof the Order.

I said this morning it could mean plural... but not with Anakin, how would that work according to the rumors??

Not plural per se, but collective. Like if all the Irish people in the United States died and then one Irish immigrant came to the country (with more to follow), representing the return of the Irish.

Right. So we know from TFA that Luke did start his school however we dont know if any of them were Jedi. And they are all dead AFAWK.

But also other than Luke, according to Yoda there were no other Jedi. Lea doesnt count as Jedi. So luke is the last Jedi after Anakin's death. My point being is that by accounts up to TFA all other Jedi are dead. There are no other Jedi in the galaxy. I dont know what the recent books say and i am not including EU.
