Kills me that they needed to say "harbaugh designed it" when its one fucking color with two small logos. What was designed? Colors and logos already existed.

It was essentially do u want the M on the left or the right.

Hey, I'm sure Nike needed a lot of help here. That had a lot of work ahead of them changing from the Adidas "Sun" and Blue back to "Maize" and Blue.

If they got permission from Jordan to redesign the Jumpman logo to be a WR going up for the ball, THAT would be cool.

I saw someone on Mgoblog suggest they change the jumpman to a silhouette of Charles Woodson grabbing that one handed INT against MSU.

Now that would be cool.

Under Armour has been eating Nike's lunch for the past couple years... especially among the younger kids.

that is simply not true. Nike still kicks Under Armour's ass in sales. Under Armour is growing at a faster rate than in terms of %, but Nike still DWARFS UA in sales, profits, everything. The Jordan brand is growing at a faster rate than either of Nike or Under Armour though.

The Jordan brand alone made up 64% of all US retail sales in basketball shoes. Under Armour? 3.6%. 64% of the ENTIRE US market in basketball shoes- owned by one guy. Michael Jordan.

Oh, and Jordan's shoe sells at an 18 to 1 clip to the Steph Curry shoe.

Jordan is THE brand in sports apparel. They are the Apple, Mercedes Benz, Audi, whatever you want to call it- of sports apparel.

Nike is doing this in an attempt to double the Jordan brand by 2020, as it is the fastest growing part of Nike's entire business. They are opening Jordan brand only stores and are making a serious push to get the Jordan brand into everything from running, football, baseball, soccer- you name it.

Did you just compare the Steph Curry shoe to all of the shoes in the Jordan lineup? Or do you mean a specific Jordan shoe?

The rest is just fluff. Jordan is not a brand in football, as it currently stands. You can believe all you want but until we see how they merge the Jordan brand with segments outside of bball, it's a TBD. It looks silly on Harbaugh's shirt because it's a basketball image on a football uniform.

It would be cool if they somehow transformed that image into something football related.

with all those fancy stats you just barfed up it sounds like jordan is the Honda of sports apparel and Under Armour is the Audi, BMW, Tesla of sports apparel

In US apparel sales, Under Armour has been steadily eating Nike and Adidas' market share over the past 5 years. I thought that was clear, given that what spurred this discussion was a link to a preview of a shirt and outfitting teams with apparel.

Again... speaking apparel, not basketball shoes where UA is just recently breaking in and showing high growth % but not a major market share. You look at what clothes kids are wearing and overall retail sales and UA has steadily gained on Nike recently.

The Jordan brand alone made up 64% of all US retail sales in basketball shoes. Under Armour? 3.6%. 64% of the ENTIRE US market in basketball shoes- owned by one guy. Michael Jordan.

LOL no... it's "the brand" in BASKETBALL. What is complicated here?

If they have to "make a push into" those sports... obviously it is not the brand for them, right?

When they say that "Harbaugh designed this basketball coach's shirt himself," do you think they mean that they just gave him a black-and-white printing of the shirt along with some crayons, and said, "Go crazy Big Jim!"

I always thought finger painting was more his medium.

Ha, 'shark week' is what I thought were the telling words. 'Take a lap' never even crossed my mind.

I've known it for some time, I just want to hear the words come out of his mouth.

I'm curious what other ND Twitter greats are socks of IE members. Father Sorin and Knute are out there, as well as FakeSwarbrick.

Where's your childlike sense of wonder? I'd like to think it's really Harry, who put "fake" in front of his own name, so he can make fun of Sanford with impunity.

I'm not Harry. He was funny when he started so I would have claimed it then, but that account has run its course and is trying to hard.
