Is there a possibility for it if he gets convicted for the double murder?

Not according to Massachusetts | Death Penalty Information Center

The last executions to take place in Massachusetts were Phillip Bellino and Edward Gertson on May 9, 1947 for the murder of Robert William. Both defendants were electrocuted at Charlestown State Prison. Their executions inspired a commission to evaluate the death penalty in Massachusetts to determine the effectiveness.

Milestones in abolition/reinstatement

After Furman v. Georgia, voters in the Commonwealth passed an amendment that allowed the death penalty in 1982. Under this new amendment, the state could not "be construed as prohibiting the imposition of the punishment of death". Later that same year, the legislature passed a bill reinstating the death penalty for first-degree murder.

In Commonwealth v. Colon-Cruz (1984), the Massachusetts law that enabled capital punishment was ruled unconstitutional on the grounds that it was not applied fairly, since only defendants who went to trial were eligible; this excluded defendants who plead guilty.

26 accused witches have been executed in Massachusetts but NO NFL players.

Those Florida teams were filled with some questionable guys. Hernandez, Harvin, Cooper, Pouncey twins, Spikes...then Tebow somehow surrounded by those idiots....I'm sure many more oddballs on the team as well.

Don't overlook Will Hill. Stay Classy! The video of him told you everything you needed to know. Urb did a helluva job recruiting pure thuggery.

Someone needs to tell him murder is illegal.

Someone needs to tell him murder is illegal.

Why would a schleprock, shmuck, and an idiot like this even open his mouth?

In other news Urban Liar took his share of shite on talk radio over Hernandez, especially from the SEC contingent.

Some say there was at least one murder during a burglary that can be attributed to Urban's most convicted sociopath. Who knows?

Speaking of sociopathy, Hernandez's own attorney boxed him in the corner pretty well when he claimed at the last minute that his client was there, saw it, and was shocked! The prosecutor of course replied that it obviously explained why Hernandez was seen playing with his daughter, sipping smoothies, lounging by the pool within an hour or two of the murder! OMG - I - LMFAO!

Aaron Hernandez prosecutors score enormous triumph with murder conviction

Pretty crazy read. Didn't know the prosecutor had to ace the trial like that. Wow.

Oh I don't know if I quite agree with that writer's characterization of the trial. There was really strong circumstantial evidence against Aaron, in my opinion. I've worked on a lot of post-conviction matters where the petitioner was convicted on much weaker evidence.

I'd characterize the outcome more like this:

The Arrogance of Aaron Hernandez - The New Yorker

The defense lawyers put up an amazing fight because that's what high-priced defense lawyers do, but the prosecutors were capable enough to help the jury see through the bullshit, as any good prosecutor should be able to do.

Regardless of how it is written, I agree. There was plenty of evidence to convict him. It might have been circumstantial, but it was good circumstantial evidence.

AH: In about an hour. I gotta go put a cap in Loyd first. When I get back I'll take her out to the pool and chill for a while. Hey when you leave, take that box with the gun and dump it where it won't be found.

I'm pretty compassion when it comes to human life, but I honestly can say this doesn't bother me at all.

This makes no sense to me. He was just acquitted and looked like his previous trial, according to his current lawyer, was going under the scope.

Not that I care, the guy is a scumbag, but again this makes no sense.

I just figured that being found "Not Guilty" on the double murder, but then going right back to prison and realizing that he was going to spend the rest of his life there regardless, was probably too much for him to handle mentally.

Any chance of foul play? Certainly seems like a head scratcher given the fact his lawyer got him off for the double murder and thought they could still appeal the first one. Wasn't his lawyer the same one that got Casey Anthony acquitted? Got to think your hopes are high with that guy. Hernandez was seen blowing kisses to his daughter and fiance when the verdict was read I guess...just seems like a weird ending.

By the accounts in the reports he tried to bar/block the cell door from the inside, but I wonder if that couldn't have been done to help push a suicide bid. The fact there's no note is kind of sketchy...nearly half of all suicides leave a note behind, but obviously if it wasn't in his handwriting it would destroy any cover up. Not defending the guy here, he was scum and deserved to be punished for his crimes, it just really makes no sense why he would take the coward's way out at this juncture. If this was some old fashioned justice to prevent him getting a later appeal on the Odin murder and walking away scott free...might have been a good thing rather than have him on the loose again.

In other words, a minority?

Technically yes, but he obviously had loved ones he was leaving behind. You would think that he would leave some parting words in this case. The whole thing makes me think someone orchestrated it to look like a suicide, believing that his lawyer would get him the appeal for the first murder too. The guy was scum, and it's a scary proposition that he may have found a way to go free eventually.

I read something about whoever found him tried to revive him? I always feel like when I hear they they are laying the ground works for "reasons" someone would have injuries to their chest or something. I probably have watched too many movies but I feel like prisons do a pretty good job of not giving people opportunity to kill themselves.

You have got to think that if there was any foul play that there would be bruising from a struggle around the neck, more than what would have already been there. Suicide will probably be the conclusion though if it was an inside job.

That's what I'm thinking too, facing the reality that he's going to behind those walls for the rest of his life I'm sure he just snapped.
I think his daughter was at the latest trial too, must have been heartbreaking for the scumbag.
