Somebody brought up a good point regarding Dante needing to build relationships with other current commits and missing out on opportunities to do so. That is, if he is a silent and/or has signed an outside contract that ties him to Nd. I wonder if Dante is part of the “group chat” of ND commits?
That's true to an extent, and we'd all be grateful if Moore was clearly prioritizing relationship-building with our current commits.

Don't make too much of it though. Every elite recruit wants to commit to a class with a 5-star QB in it. How much does it really help solidify things if he's BFFs with the other prospects? I've never seen a top-100 WR decommit from a powerhouse for a local school simply because he has a "better relationship" with their 3-star QB.

We've seen plenty of indications that ND has been actively using Moore to recruit others to this class. He may feel like he's done enough to help us build momentum on the trail, so he's free to focus on playing the NIL market while he can. Getting wined and dined by wealthy boosters all over the nation must be a surreal experience, and I wouldn't blame him for not wanting to cut that short.

And Notre Dame doesn’t owe him anything either. But they’re recruiting the position like they do owe him something.
No they're recruiting the position like they know recruiting around him puts at risk the opportunity to land him. Obviously they feel he's worth it. I tend to agree. We'll see.

I do agree that you'd think Dante would want to go all in publicly with ND if that's where he wants to be. It doesn't just hurt ND. It has some impact on the recruiting class which directly effects the talent of the team he's playing on. That can have a significant long term impact on personal/team goals for his college career and perception by the next level.

He’s worth it, to an extent. There’s also risk in playing the game all the way up until NSD. If you don’t land him, then what?

Clearly the staff knows something and/or has something in place with him. I just hope it sticks.

Dublins post said "everyone" is active in NIL
I was showing that's not true. He visited UM as well.
I was just clarifying his point on the II podcast, which was all of the schools (outside of the Midwest) are NIL-heavy-hitters. They specifically mentioned some recruiting analysts feel this kid isn't leaving the Midwest. But he's checking out options beyond the Midwest, potentially for NIL reasons.

You are incorrect. They are recruiting Dante like he's the best option by a wide margin and the entire staff knows what they need to get a natty. So they are going all in and trying to get the players that'll put ND over the top.

I was under the Kelly spell when it came to recruiting and grew used to going for our 3rd or 4th or 5th option at various positions. This staff isn't doing that. We'll see which gives better results.

Maybe this young fellow justs wants to be on that signing day TV show where the "undecided" future hopeful stars get to make a big drama about choosing a hat, and getting a TV interview.

This could likely be the case. Combined with getting nice chunks of cash just to go visit other places. Why not?

We have to remember what we and “insiders” are being told is probably very different than what other recruits are being told. Lots of hand wringing about how Dante waiting longer is negatively affecting this class, do you guys think it’s a coincidence we also have lots of momentum with high end WRs and RBs?

IF Dante signs with ND, I'm certain that we'll have a ghostly appearance from Beano Cook stating "Ron Powlus Dante Moore will win the Heisman two times and be the greatest quarterback in the history of Notre Dame"!

Saw sea turtle tracks on the beach this morning and learned that the conservationists here do a turtle patrol each day around dawn to look for new nests. If they find one, they actually relocate it to a safer part of the beach and monitor it until the eggs hatch.

Anyways, by the time I got there the sea turtle was gone, so I didn’t get to ask her for an update on Dante Moore. But if I see any tonight I’ll make sure to ask when Moore plans on publicly committing.

Same.

But this is a better discussion for the question about a girl thread.

It seems to me that there could be a very good final conclusion to this:
1. The staff successfully recruits all the positions and we're hanging around the top three classes;
2. Young Dante has his early day in the spotlight and is happy, as is his Mom who gets to see her son on TV;
3. Notre Dame gets a Football Primetime moment of great publicity;
4. Dante pushes our class to number one;
5. Commentators gush astonishingly at what a nice well-spoken young man this is going to Notre Dame;
6. SEC assholes and OSU assholes are thoroughly p!ssed off;
7. The Skies open and Lucky Irish Shamrocks cover the Football Earth.

I'd bet good money that Dante already signed an NIL deal with FUND that includes an escalation clause, which commits ND to beating the best offer he receives elsewhere. But it seems like his deal doesn't require him to commit before NSD, which is why his incentive is now to take this down to the wire. Major oversight if true.

Here on planet earth we fully expect to be left at the altar though.

Hypothetically, if that was the case, would that render him ineligible in Michigan for his senior season?

No issue if he’s not receiving funds now I believe (and not “incentivized” to go to ND ;) ). But that’s a educated guess

Interesting take, and pretty plausible.
