If Buchner hits and they land Moore it’s tough to agree with that. And many would still say that’s the most likely outcome. I think people don’t like the process from the outside but it’s a results orientated business. Those are really his first two results tests. The development of Buchner and landing an elite QB under Freeman. We’ll have a decent answer in a few months.
If Buchner hits and they land Moore, I’ll never criticize Rees again. But that’s a big if right now.

This reply right here.
If you're going on "his actions and words" it's safe to say that ND has a little bit more to their name lol.
You contradicted yourself really hard there.
He’s visiting A&M on his own dime and probably* won’t be at either of Notre Dame’s big recruiting weekends. That tells me that his interest in A&M looks to be legit.

And who knows what kind of check Jimbo would write him.

Exactly what FightingIrishLover7 said..... A&M arent the first to offer money, thats pretty clear..... Im not saying they wont be a player, but for ArrowRyan to say they are somehow a leader, is just debbie downer thought process

He's been to ND, what, 9+ times (on his own dime).
What more can he do in South Bend at this point?

I'll resort to that thought process as well until I'm shown otherwise, unfortunately. Expect the worst and hope for the best. Easiest way to avoid disappointment.

My speculations are, he'd be committed right now if ND wanted him to be. (and maybe he even is silently)

I think Dante would have said "I'm in" but I think he told the staff he still wants to be sure. The staff told him the no commit/visit policy and told him to take his time committing and that his spot will be going nowhere.

And honestly, I think that's great. That avoids the Rhett/P Bowen situations were kids get that itch to do it anyway. That's when temptation can lead to going behind staffs backs etc. That's where things get really messing.

Of course a commitment and shutting down visits is ideal, but that is not always going to be the case. I think if a kid really, really wants to be sure, then wait. And I also think (I do not think this is the case) if Dante is doing all of this to go on tour for fun / brand / follower building, he can do that too. It's his choice, and financially it's honestly probably wise on his part if this is all pure fun for him on a personal level. (again, I don' like it, and not ideal for the class, but a las).

Continue building relationships with future teammates. He’s a “silent”, right? I think that should be important to him.
Can he not build relationships via texts/calls/dms etc? All while meeting other peers/schools?
Football players are allowed to network too. It is a business after all.

Absolutely. It makes me feel good that he has had conversations with current commits and guys that ND probably leads for.

I just wish he’d make it to campus in June. It would ease my mind a bit.

Loy clarified a bit that the confusion is over the timeline, not necessarily the destination as in still will be ND.

Said he has plenty more than word of mouth and second hand info to know ND leads.

Which again circles me back to for ND to be confident still and actually end up being right, if you read that as an outsider, you’d have to think ND dropped the NIL bag right?

Yes. He has to be already bound to us contractually for the apparent levels of confidence to make any sense.

We need photoshop gifs of Brady Quinn throwing bags of cash to Samardzija, McKnight and Stovall for whenever ND lands a top-50 guy.

Just dropping NIL bombs all over the place.

FWIW, and I could be mistaken, but I think in our new no-rules NIL world a lot of top recruits are getting their unofficials paid for. At least longer-distance ones to programs with boosters who like to throw money around, like A&M (and Miami where he also unofficialed). So I wouldn't assume it's on his own dime.

good point on II podcast there this week: Look at the schools Moore is visiting, every one of them is extremely active in NIL/paying players

This is true, even before NIL
Unofficial have been paid for, under the table, for decades.
Kids have gone on record saying that they've also been given cash just for showing up on campus.

All schools are "active" in the NIL world (at least for Power 5).
How many, are "overly active" is a better question.
A school like A&M? Good point
A school like UM that he also just visited? Not a good point. (so we're led to believe by them)

UM is the hometown school, no? NIL has less to do with local Midwest schools. It has potentially everything to do with the distant schools (Oregon, A&M, Miami, LSU). That was the gist of the question/podcast discussion from what I gathered.

When the staff starts sending out offers to other QBs, that's when I (as a fan) will worry that ND has lost on the race to get Moore's commitment. So far, we haven't seen that so I'm staying cautiously optimistic that the kid is just weighing his options, wants to enjoy the process and gather all the information he can before ultimately coming back "home" and choosing a Midwest school...ND.

Somebody brought up a good point regarding Dante needing to build relationships with other current commits and missing out on opportunities to do so. That is, if he is a silent and/or has signed an outside contract that ties him to Nd. I wonder if Dante is part of the “group chat” of ND commits?

Dublins post said "everyone" is active in NIL
I was showing that's not true. He visited UM as well.

Uncommitted players and committed players can talk to each other too...

From what I am understanding in my hour and a half of not seeing this thread is that we should stop taking commits early on so our class can build team unity and relationships. If you want to commit late in the process, you can't, because it would disrupt that...

In the debate of recruiting others, visits etc I think you’re always gonna come back to he doesn’t “owe” anyone to do those things but the no visit for the spring game, 10th or 17th (if it turns out that way) is odd in that you’d just think he’d want to visit. 10th is the only non recruiting conflict to my knowledge

i also go back to some of the comments lucky made the other day. I highly doubt when ND shut it down there was discussion of visits well into late fall/winter.

Things could certainly be playing out well for ND, but that isnt to say there arent some head scratchers too.

And Notre Dame doesn’t owe him anything either. But they’re recruiting the position like they do owe him something.

That’s recruiting though. ND is the one selling. Dante is the one being sold to. Sure we don’t owe Dante things either but the relationship is not equal. We are the salesperson.
