I know that this cannot be true (no program would be so risk taking with their cash), but Su'a Craven's comment about being offered $20.000 JUST TO VISIT certain schools (before it was obvious that he was all USC, of course) buzzes around in my head ...

No kid could be THAT savvy of course.
Getting paid to take short vacations? This is the best deal since Koon's timeshare!

Loy said could stretch to August, even could go the distance to December.

Assistant coaches across multiple programs, including ND, confused

Loy clarified a bit that the confusion is over the timeline, not necessarily the destination as in still will be ND.

Said he has plenty more than word of mouth and second hand info to know ND leads.

Which again circles me back to for ND to be confident still and actually end up being right, if you read that as an outsider, you’d have to think ND dropped the NIL bag right?

Yes. He has to be already bound to us contractually for the apparent levels of confidence to make any sense.

Yeah I’m out lol. They’d be be playing with fire if the staff waited until NSD to land their QB.

Avery Johnson in 2023, and Carr/Sayin 2024 please.

I'd really like to agree with you, but if Moore is that generational of a talent, we just have to play the game with the kid. let's be honest what's keeping us from winning a Natty is QB/WR play and depth at DB. If we want to play with the big boys, we gotta play the big boy game in recruiting even if it means striking out on a few of these type of dudes, as much as I REALLY hate to say that.

no one is calling him generational right? i mean hes not even top rated in his own class and many of us preferred one of Arnold or Vizzinia over him.

I don’t disagree. But just not landing a QB in this class cannot be an option.

In my opinion, Rees is teetering on being the ball and chain for offensive recruiting. He is really, really struggling to recruit his own position. Cutting ties with Vizzina has turned out to be a stupid ass decision. It is obvious that Moore said something, or committed, behind closed doors. But until he’s 100% publicly committed to them, they shouldn’t shut things down. It doesn’t make any sense to do that. And now we’re seeing the consequences.

Kid's a five start QB. To ND that's pretty generational I would say. And I was one that preferred Vizzinia TBH

Completely agree, which is what makes this such a difficult situation to juggle.
I agree landing a QB is ideal.
But this day in age, we could just as easy get a transfer.
It's one position, with one spot on the field (albeit obviosuly the most important).

If there was a gap, I'm confident ND could find a very good QB via the transfer portal. Dart, Slovis types

Again, not ideal, but there is still another path forward.

The thing about “next year” is you keep kicking the can down the road and you never really get there. Do we like going to the playoffs or would we like to win the playoffs? I prefer the latter. Let’s go to battle and land the guy everyone literally agrees we lead for.

I’d take Avery Johnson, at this point. He’s not your typical “savvy” 3 star QB. His athleticism raises his floor quite a bit.
A month or two ago, I would not have been upset at all with him or Arnold, but hearing how close we are to getting Moore, I'd prolly be a little disappointed. Regardless I really hate not having a QB in the fold by now. I truly believe a QB is essential to helping recruit an elite class. I'd be willing to throw down a handsome some of cash that we'd finish with the #1 overall class if Moore were to commit no later than June.

Of course. That seems to be a common theme with Rees.

The reporters/insiders can say one thing, but Moore‘a actions and words say something different. I’d put Notre Dame’s odds of landing Moore at around 25%.

What are the other schools chances?
I like to see your totals and how they add up to 100% using your interpretation.

I’d put A&M’s odds around 40%, Miami 25%, and LSU’s at 10%.

We’ve seen this movie before.
Not really sure how the odds of a school hes never even visited (to my knowledge, could be wrong) , would be higher than a school hes already shown he loves, and has been heavily rumored to. I feel like thats just negative thought

He is really, really struggling to recruit his own position.

If Buchner hits and they land Moore it’s tough to agree with that. And many would still say that’s the most likely outcome. I think people don’t like the process from the outside but it’s a results orientated business. Those are really his first two results tests. The development of Buchner and landing an elite QB under Freeman. We’ll have a decent answer in a few months.

This reply right here.
If you're going on "his actions and words" it's safe to say that ND has a little bit more to their name lol.
You contradicted yourself really hard there.
