I'm a Michigander by birth but have been living in Northern Kentucky for 8 years now. Your post today was the first time since I moved here that I saw Skyline Chili and actually wanted it. Went there for lunch and had 3 Coneys. I don't know who I am anymore.

Used to be a great coney dog place in SB at the corner of LaSalle and N Michigan. Would go there in the 80's after school. Anybody remember the name?

How does a Skyline coney compare to Detroit coneys? Genuinely curious. Have you been to the GOAT of Coney Islands, Lafayette, in Detroit?

I, too, am located in NKY. Not sure where you're at, but I've determined that the Highland Heights location is the best overall.

(Empress in Alexandria is the **best** Cincinnati Chili imo)

Whataburger always wins best fast food burger in Texas and that shit is incredible only for how bland it is
Absolutely. Incredibly overhyped. Not as overhyped as Inn N Out but still pretty overhyped. Reminds me of a cross between Sonic and Burger king. Not bad, but significantly worse than Shake Shack or Five Guys

Ino is def overhyped,… people going around like it will change your life need to stfu,… it is still objectively one of the best drive thru burgers in the country however. Miles above Whataburger, but still massively overhyped. I’ll legit take BK, maybe not sonic if I’m honest, I’d have to think on that one, over a burger from Whataburger every time.

Love a sonic burger but I can admit its probably nostalgia, the tots and drinks. They also have a great coney. I do love onions on a burger though and Sonic never disappoints there.

Had In N Out for the first time recently. Its definitely in the merely "very good" category, but for the price Id say it's S tier.

Five Guys is the best bar none IMO, but unfortunately you're paying so much more that its really hard to justify even if the burger is better.

With you on Five Guys.

I think Wendy’s may be the best among the true fast food chains

I have been to Lafayette Coney Island. To me, its apples and oranges. Skyline always throws me with the cloves and cinnamon. My favorite is actually Yesterdog in Grand Rapids, MI and more of a accurate comparison to Lafayette.

The last 3 days I've had lunch at Sonic, then Freddy's, then Portillo's today. Sonic is absolute horseshit IMO, nothing to recommend it. Freddy's is meh on the burger, fries and custard, I prefer Culver's, but I did like their tots. Long live the king for Portillo's. Had a burger and a hotdog today, no fries, and a cup of ice water. Got to watch the calories you know. No contest, P's is the bees knees. Great food. Sat out on their patio and watched the HS girls go by. Now you'll have to excuse me, I have to go refill my statin prescription........

Only had Whataburger once, I just remember going "Damn this burger is wide". It was ok, very bready.

While in enjoy 5 guys it is a slop burger. By the time you're done the bun is a grease ball.

If the newer burger franchises Shake Shack is the clear winner IMO.

Nothing better than a giant cherry limeade from Sonic.
I used to get a route 44 diet cherry limeade every single day on my way to work as a lifeguard (had to keep the figure up for the pool moms), and it got to the point where they told me “oh did you get new sunglasses, they look nice” so I had to stop going for a bit

Agreed. The price and the fact it’s one of the only fresh made burgers in a drive thru make it really good, top tier for a drive thru … but yeah, it’s still overrated. It’s easily one of the best McDonald’s style burgers around, and that’s that. Five guys is def better burger to burger but good lord it’s expensive and it’s not drive thru so I don’t really put them on equal footing

After reading this thread I feel like I’m spoiled rotten. Here in Charleston fast food is like a goomah… it’s where you go to cheat on your real wife which just happenes to be some of the best regional food ever.

Any type of food I could ever want is available anytime of the day and none of it is a chain

We've got nothing to do this weekend, I'm all caught up on my honey-do lists. I'm thinking of taking the family on a 2 1/2 hour drive to Fort Wayne for pizza. What else is there to do in that city, or should I make a new thread? @MacIrish75
