Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Churchill Downs, an aircraft carrier, the Grand Canyon, Ireland, Hawaii, or the moon.

If we hold it on the moon, we have to watch out for the whalers there

The ND coaching clinic is well worth anyones time if they can go. You get to watch 2 practices and listen to great speakers and they feed you well.
Getting to watch practice and see certain drills is very interesting and insightfull.

What is everyone's problem with Lucas Oil? It's a pretty fantastic venue.

BK should hire Prestige Worldwide as ND's talent-evaluation firm.

Have it at the Big House and just wreck Ann Arbor all night long...

I recall attending the Blue Gold game during the stadium renovation of the 90s, and I believe it was held at Arlotta Stadium (then Krause Stadium?). Sure it doesn't have the capacity to hold the 20,000+ turnout of most years, but they can get creative. Maybe host two public spring events over the last weekend, each part practice and part scrimmage? I think it has an artificial surface now, though, so I don't know if they could even temporarily convert it to a football field like they did back then.

The problem is, once you move it off campus, will it draw enough of a crowd to make it worthwhile? Part of the spring game's whole allure is the chance to get on campus in the spring for a football event.

That's a good point. I wonder how feasible it would have been to do it "old school" and have the game just on a grass field, such as the golf course or Stepan fields. You could bring in a ton of portable bleachers. It would almost certainly lack capacity, but for once the spring game would be a packed house, and it would be on campus.

Yeah, I don't really see us selling that many tickets to a Blue & Gold game that's not on campus. Except maybe in Chicago somewhere. Not Soldier Field though (too big). Would it be weird to do at Northwestern? They owe us after last season. Is Wrigley possible?

I'd go if I still lived in Indy and they were gonna play in Lucas Oil.

Baseball season would be in full swing by then. That'd only be possible after September. :smilewink

Notre Dame Stadium holds about 81K. Soldier holds 61.5K. If they advertised it well I'm sure they'll sell plenty of tickets.

There's no way it's going to be off campus, because then they can't make it a recruiting event. It'll be on campus, probably with portable bleacher around some other field. White field? Practice field? Soccer stadium?

Which field they use is the question, but I have no doubt it'll be on campus for the recruiting.

Dang... less than 1k posts in over 9 years. That's strong.

Even got an icon for AOL instant messenger in your profile. Pimp.

Reps for that alone.

To be fair, it looks like he was pretty active from registration till 2007, then a hiatus until 2 posts in the Rumored Thread last fall...and then this most recent post.

I posted this in the Blue Gold game thread I think, but what is the significance, or what are the rules regarding recruiting if it's not on campus? I'm not sure how it prevents us from recruiting if we do it at another location like Indy or Chi-town. tOSU had recruits at their Spring Game in Cinci a few years ago.

Thanks, I have stopped using IE much since most of the guys I knew back then left, for one reason or another: Svoboda, GoshenGipper, KamaraPolice, stonebreakerwasgod, etc. I still check from time to time, mostly just to lurk. I wasn't thinking I'd derail the thread by posting something, but whatevs. :)

I had no idea I still had an AIM link in my profile though, good catch!

edit: how could I forget mlcsspinner! Ah, so many others I'm sure I've forgotten.

Pop into this thread, spinner and stonebreaker stopped by to say hi a year ago. Must be something in the wind this time of year:

I'm guessing it would be similar to a Shamrock series game maybe? No in person contact at the game, before or after. I have no idea what the rule is so I very well might be incorrect. My thought was if they had the recruits on campus in the morning then provided buses for anyone going to the game(including fans and students so as to not fiddle with NCAA rules regarding transportation during unofficial visits).

Maybe that's the deal? They're allowed to have sideline passes and such, like tOSU had in Cinci for their recruits, but no actual contact at the event? Maybe they could do something before and after on campus, then bus everyone to Soldier Field for the actual game? I don't see how else they'll accommodate 20k-ish fans that want to watch the game.
