Reps Crus.

That's funny AF... almost spit my candy coffee up looking at Mayer's uncomfortable/awkward reaction to Gronk's silliness.

More Mayer please. A LOT more Mayer please. I'd rather him see him out there than Javon or Ben. He might be faster than both.

Wow, I have a hard time believing he is a freshman. He runs after the catch with an attitude, I like!

He could probably be a 1st or 2nd round draft pick if he was eligible for this upcoming draft.

He should take Trembles catches - like the first play of the game. Mayer would have caught that then turned and got up field.

Can't remember where but I think I saw someone report that Tremble is a bit banged up. Now, I believe Mayer is on another level as a receiving target, and he should be a main focal point of the passing attack. But, I think Tremble's production would be higher if he was fully healthy.

This man Zoom prom kind 5 months ago and now he's a top 3 TE in college football. We get two more years of this, god willing. Gonna be a joy to watch

Whoever came up with playing the Halloween theme every time Michael shows up in the game deserves a huge raise. Inspired.

I had not caught this, but that is great.

It took me until the 3rd quarter before I caught on. My wife asked me "Why are they playing the Halloween theme?" in the second quarter, and I said "No idea, but its a bit out of season?" After Mayer's big crossing route they played it again and I put it together.

I don’t want to get picky because I think he had a decent game, but his drop and false start probably prevented us from scoring 40+ in regulation.

For the N'th time Mayer has been hit on crossing routes and just manned his way for a 1st down. The 3rd and 11 that he must have gotten 20 something yards because tackling him in space is a tall order. He's too big for a safety to reliably take down and a linebacker isn't going to be able to keep up with him.

Keep doing that play.

I’ll stand by my statement if he was eligible for the 2021 draft he is a day two lock and possibly a late first rounder. We could be looking at a generational talent here...

I was thinking the same thing but he did play his butt off after that. Hopefully he will make sure he dospesnt so that again.

Put me in the minority here that thinks a freshman playing through some adversity and not having his best game against the best team is a good thing. Great players need games like these to remain grounded and to have something to shoot for. If he's a great player, that drop is eating away at him. Those drops this year will build him into the machine he's going to be for the next two years at ND. Look forward to watching this kids name called on the first night of the draft.

I don’t think you are in the minority in thinking this.

And I think his performance in the second half proved your point as he came out a man on a mission.

Can't complain about Kelly not playing freshman and then get upset when they make freshman mistakes. You're trading talent for occasional dumb stuff. Mayer's dumb stuff is well worth it the fact that he's a match-up nightmare.

I was thinking by the 4th quarter that Mayer should've had 150 yards by that point. He looked that much better than even Clemson's defenders. Itd be great to lean on him even more in the ACC Championship Game
