You're not the only one that went to school on a baseball scholarship. As did I. But I don't play the baseball star role on forums, desperately holding on to my former athletic prowess like a fuq'n loser.

I also make shit loads of money and have a smoking hot wife. So hum on deez nutz, Al.

Let's see a picture of your wife...I'm calling your BS.

Good points, but - if not 32 than how many? Can't go to 7A with only 8 or so teams can you? And if so that still doesn't help Penn and their garbage schedule. If it has to be 32 then rank 'em and let the best play at Regionals forward...

Basketball is a 12 person sport. Stop comparing hoops and football.

I didn't even know LaPorte had a baseball team. Are they good apparently?

So Penn needs to drive down to Indy for every week of the season? That'll be great for their budget and the extra 6 hours of business rides will help their game immensely, I am sure.

1. The MIC, Fishers, HSE, Avon, Franklin Central, Noblesville, Lake Central, Crown Point, Portage, Penn, the new Elkhart High. There's 18. Sweet Sixteen plus two randomly drawn byes so Penn doesn't cheat your system. If Cathedral wins 6A, they get bumped up and you add a play in game.

New class structure:

7A = 2500+
6A = 2000 - 2500
5A = 1500 - 2000
4A = 1000 - 1500
3A = 750 - 1000
2A = 500 - 750
1A = 1 - 500

Champions and private schools get moved up and down on performance.

Once again, don't worry about Penn's "garbage" schedule. It all works out in the end. They either beat Carmel or they lose to Carmel when they meet. BTW, in their non-NIC games, they played (2) 6A Indiana teams, (2) traditional Detroit Catholic powers and a Top 10 5A Mishawaka. It's not like they are out playing 4A county schools.

2. We're talking Indiana HS sports. So basketball is included in every discussion as you always start at the top and work your way down to lesser, inferior sports. We have one of the nicest football stadiums in Indiana that ND's opponents use for practice. It seats 3000 less than our gym. Once again, it's Indiana.

3. Sorry, I thought you played baseball in Indiana. My bad.

Can a mod move all this to a thread called:

Pennis Envy... Why they're #1 every year and the Indy fans that flunked geography.

IIRC, Penn was very close to joining the DAC. Not a big deal for football, but imagine the cost of schlepping stuff like girls volleyball teams from Mishawaka to Merrillville a few times a year?

But it's not just a few times anymore with Crown Point and Lake Station in the DAC. That's 80-90 miles. Penn to the closest DAC school LaPorte is at least 40, MC's 50, Cheesetown's 60. That's a waste.

Many in MC want to rejoin the NIC. City (Elston) was in the NIC for 70 years. Demographically, they fit in better with the SB schools than they do with the the Porter Co schools only Merrillville's a fit.

I'm not sure how LP people feel about rejoining the NIC. I grew up with a LaPorte address a block from the boundary and went to MCR. Most LP people try to distance themselves from MC unless they have to go to one of the malls or the beach. They were in the NIC for at least 50 years.

Hard to believe the NIC used to stretch from Whiting to Goshen & even Fort Wayne North Side. My Dad played in the NIC for Gary Emerson before all the Mill schools left and formed the Northwestern.

The perfect NIC would be:

Elkhart (consolidated)
Penn
Mishawaka
SB Clay
SB Riley
SB Washington
SB Adams
Concord - add
Goshen - add
Michigan City - add

The DAC should re-add Hobart, and then add Munster and East Chicago for 10.

I like this a lot.

Lake Station however isn't in the DAC, and I doubt they would ever be added.

There was discussion about adding ECC awhile back, but it didn't work out.

IMO, the best DAC would be:

Portage
Valpo
Chesterton
Merrillville
Crown Point
East Chicago
Lake Central
Hobart
Munster
Griffith or Andrean or Lowell or all

You get all the Region bigs together, and trim Laporte County, letting them affiliate with the NIC like you said.

*This leaves the Hammond schools, the Calumet/Lake Station types, Whiting, up and comers like Wheeler etc. scrambling, but they will be fine keeping the LAC going

Oops. I meant Lake Central.

I think the best fit for the last spot today would still be Highland. Down the road Lowell is going to be the next Crown Point or Lake Central. Unbelievable how many people are moving down that way.

Nobody cares what any of you did in high school. Nobody.

I detect a Boone, Morgan maybe even Kouts tone in your voice... I always thought you were a VHS guy being that you moved to an equally snobby RSM but that was a PCC comment if I ever heard one. I think you should move to Lake Forest with that attitude.

To tie the recruit and the school together, his numbers generally won't balloon at Penn as it is usually a running offense with some passing. On the other hand, he should be a well developed blocking TE.

I am not opposed to having little Jimtown in the NIC. They had a down year for Jimtown standards but still did well for being 2a in the NIC.

I know everyone hates Gray & Blue Shirts but this is a perfect situation where ND could offer it and not be toolish. This kids gonna be a good one and you KNOW he wants to go to ND.

Camped at Iowa yesterday and got an offer. Next camp listed is Ohio St on the 13rh. Hoping he will be at Invasion to compare to Tremble.

Any of you guys hear if Torres will be at Invasion now or not?

Their was a lot of cryptic "OT project" talk for a while by the ND analysts. He went to Iowa, got offered and the 247 analysts lost their minds and started CBing him to the Hawkeyes.

Does Iowa want him as an OT project or just as another big TE?

Got an offer from Fickell and UC.

Gonna be hard to beat Iowa though, if Iowa wants him as a TE.
