From eleven Warriors

"I'm always curious. Especially during the Brian Kelly era, as there's no way in hell I'd want to play for that beet-face. That and I've been an OSU fan since I was a toddler (began watching with my dad since around 3 years old from what I've been told haha), so the ND-love from Ohioans always surprises/confuses me. But I don't begrudge anyone their choices, wish him the best of luck and a quality career. Same for Jerome Baker if he sticks with UF."

I've been told more than once I'm off base about Kelly and his infamous meltdown being used against us, but here's a prime example. I know this isn't a recruiter saying the above, but while it happened a few years ago and only once, it still gets mentioned. I still believe that it gets brought up by rival coaches every once in a while.

Some posters on there are rational, some aren't.

the fact that they refer to their coaching staff and pOSU in general as "the good guys" is just hilarious

I actually thought there were far more reasonable posts in that thread than could have been expected lol.

It might be one of those things where they are so dissatisfied with their own OL recruiting that they are willing to avoid bashing ND to make a point.

Im a little late to the party but this is an awesome pick up and great way to start off the 2016 recruiting cycle. Awesome get and even sweeter that we got him out of Ohio State country.

I don't think anyone has disputed that rival coaches try to use it against us. The question is whether or not it's effective. And based on Kelly's recruiting results to date, it seems not to be.

Most of the animus rival fans harbor toward ND isn't even remotely rational, so they try to tar Kelly with everything that's happened during his tenure, regardless of whether he had anything to do with it-- Seeberg, Sullivan, "Kekua", etc. They mostly end up just grasping at straws, but no one calls them out on it in an echo chamber like Eleven Warriors.

OVERALL
Kraemer is a player who has been tested at an early age as he plays in one of the top prep leagues (Greater Catholic League) in the nation along with a top out of league schedule that includes several highly ranked teams in Ohio and outside of the state. All the tools are there for Kraemer to play early in his career and play at a high level. A natural bender, Kraemer already has a solid punch and is not afraid to mix it up in the trenches. The ability to move inside to guard makes him a safe prospect for a high level program like Notre Dame. Add in the fact he’ll enter college physically ready to compete should mean early playing time once he gets the finer points of the team’s blocking scheme down. Reminds me of current Irish offensive lineman Steve Elmer

These great offensive lineman are attracted to ND because we are having great success in the pros first and foremost along with what the school brings them. I think if Ronnie does choose to enter in the draft it will definitely hurt, but if he goes first round there is a legit chance we will see the best oline in college sports in South Bend because we are excelling at grooming pro offensive line players. The buckeye fans don't relate to Tommy's decision to come here, but fact is a fact our guys progress more at the college level because of the variety we face in terms of competition from defensive lines.

Kraemer, Hoge, Tillery, Nelson, Bars, McGlinchey, Elmer, Bivin, etc. Kelly and Hiestand have no excuse when running the ball from this point on. They have the bodies up front.

Running backs need to be able to hit the hole as well.

Large part of the trouble running the ball early in 2014 was the RBs not hitting the hole. The oline has played very well this season. That will happen when you have 2 inexperienced backs and an average back as your backfield.

But yes, there is a lot of talent on the Oline.

That sucks. I have a feeling this is a thread that a lot of people are going to panick over for the next year everytime it gets bumped.

Figured this was going to happen sooner than later. I'll be upset if Urbie pulls in both Tommy and Eichenberg. Hope Tommy sticks.

Kraemer texted with ISD about this, and said he was "no doubt" solid in his commitment to ND.

I know NSD is ~13 months away and A LOT can happen between now and then, but it really is reassuring to hear this. Hopefully the kid politely tells Urban to go screw.

The fact that he reached out to ISD to inform them says a lot to me. Obviously anything can happen in over a years time, but I feel good about this one. Cornerstone piece to this class.

No, I'd rather him pull a KC McDermott, and essentially tell him to go pound sand.......but thats mostly because I think Urban is the antichrist......along with Saban.

Just playing devil's advocate, what is he supposed to say? "Eh, I'm shakey on my ND committment and that's why Urban's visiting?"

He's got 13 months til his signing day, he's not going to just flip or open up his recruitment becuause OSU is visiting. This will be one we have to stay on, obviously.

Visiting where, his school? Otherwise, why is a no doubt commit taking a visit?

Huh? Meyer is swinging by his school, like he has done with a multitude of others in Ohio, to do some post dead period recruiting. Kraemer isn't visiting anywhere.
