But did he trip during the 40?
4.97 is pretty good for a HS junior OL. These guys are massive and not quite fully developed into their bodies.
I liked Tommy Kraemer a lot,” 247Sports Director of Scouting Barton Simmons said. “He’s enormous and they moved a lot of true tackles to guards because when you have so many elite guys, some of those guys have to kick inside, and Kraemer has been one of those guys that has stayed on the edge and looked really good with his feet mirroring quick defensive linemen and has the wide-bodied frame, it takes a lot of geography for a defensive lineman to actually get around him. He’s not a guy that lets guys bully him also. I think he had complete day.
“We have him as the No. 3 offensive tackle in the country and I saw something that makes me doubt that spot.”
So Simmons says how awesome he is, yet implies rating TK as the #3 OT is high?
I did read that right?
Just seems weird to almost hype up a player, only to leave a negative note at the final 1/2 of the last sentence...
Unless Simmons is bad at writing, I think he may mean Tommy deserves to be ranked higher.

- Tommy Kraemer may end up being the top offensive tackle here by the end of this camp, but he was not dominant yesterday. He wasn't bad by any stretch. Just not outstanding. And with Kraemer I kind of expected outstanding. I don't think he anchored strong enough and gave up some ground when he probably could have prevented it. It may just be him getting used to the speed of the edge rushers he has to face because there are some very good ones at this camp. Today the pads go on so I think he'll be a lot better with everything today.
I think it seems fishy that he's in the top 17 percent of tested athletes in the 40 with a 5.46.....how slow does a kid have to be in the 25th percentile? 50th? Have they started testing toddlers in the 40?

He's in the bottom 17 percent not the top.
Percentiles will do that to a guy.

Brett Heggie? Brothers?
Impossible, if he was related to Bruce he would have the power to just look at the DL and they would curl up into the fetal position and suck their thumb, the name must be a coincidence.
Did a little googling. They are indeed brothers haha.
Heggie is the brother of Bruce Heggie, who was at Notre Dame for the first four years of his college eligibility before graduating.
Kraemer and Boudreaux looked very strong. Basically they were "beaten" now and then only because the DE could go anywhere he wanted to, and so it's almost impossible to stop the wide rush --- all our QB would have to do would be to take one step forward [the tackling dummy lacked that skill, but we've had two QBs in a row who weren't very good at it, for different reasons.]
Kraemer in the video didn't cheat towards the outside and ensured that he wasn't beaten inside [a tackle's mentality]. Boudreaux tried to cover every angle and so the DE/DT got in once in a while both ways. Kraemer impressed me with his ability to not be phased by the initial hit --- he shook it off like a mountain and the DE/DT rocked away a bit. Boudreaux sometimes rocked a little with the initial hit, but he's proud and mean so every other play he punished the other guy. His game seems like an interior OLineman working violently in a confined space.
Heggie was OK. He is nowhere near as strong as either of our guys apparently, and sometimes got bulled. It seems like he's trying to act like a Center. ... which is good as he should always get some help there.
