This is what I thought he would do. And I think this is the best decision for him.

People saying he will go 2nd or 3rd round are just crazy. There is no way he slips out of the 2nd round. And I think he goes late first round. He seems to be the 3rd corner on the draft boards I have seen. I don't care about his size and perceived lack of athleticism. If he runs a 4.5 at the combine he will lockup a first round selection...just watch his tape.

Saying all that I think eventually Love will be moved inside to safety like Malcolm Jenkins. and have a similar career to Malcolm Jenkins, which is a damn good career. I think that is the best current NFL player comparison for him.

I agree Sherm. He's great right now and I think his ceiling is still higher. I can't believe he will slip below the 2nd round... but I am biased.

Right move. He's earned it. Being an A+ RKG from ND will ensure he goes no lower than the 2nd even as long as the combine goes as expected. As an NFL scout said, unless he's gonna get longer or faster why come back? He's already the best college CB when it comes to technique and production.

This Is the worst news I've heard all year. I hate the NFL. Such a waste of time and It's nothing but a fantasy football dilemma. Fantasy Football was the worst thing ever created! It demolished the NFL>

Gonna miss his sure tackling. Been a perfect tackler since he got in as a freshman and we were Schmitt as a team in tackling. A lot of Nd players drop in the draft so hope he is still glad when he goes in the third round.

How Is It that 60 minutes later he miraculously starts remembering? He gets cleared by the medical staff and the game was... Over.
I don't want to question anyone ethically but I want to get the ethical answer.
Concussions are too serious to treat as a 'get on the bike and ride off the memory loss moment'.... Right? .
If Notre Dame just found the cure for the concussion disease, we need not worry anymore. We are going to lose everyone and have a hard time feilding any players next year..

I was wondering the same thing. He came back in the game so was it really a head injury or something else and if it was a head injury did he clear protocol or did he go back in to prevent any more scores? I would hate to find out he was put in danger because we were losing

From my experience with the ND concussion testing, I feel like maybe he didn't pass one of the components of the test but passed the others, so the staff thought it could have been a false positive so they decided to take time and let him retest. I actually knew someone who failed one of the components of the baseline testing (so obviously not concussed), so they had to sit out and wait a while and then retake that component. Considering they had to wait even for the baseline, it would probably be similar for the actual diagnostic testing.

Also, as to the cure for concussions, I do actually remember that last year some players were testing a device worn on the neck that was supposed to increase blood flow to the brain to decrease concussions. It had some interesting science behind it, but was so new it didn't really have a ton of real world results yet. I haven't been looking for it as much this year, but I feel like we've had fewer concussions than normal this year, so I wonder if we have gone team-wide with the device.

A false positive may have been the reason. I thought part of the protocol also required the player to stay on the sidelines for a specified time after being cleared just to make sure?
