He would be on the sidelines with a hang nail. That is his biggest knock, no doubt the physical talent is there. People have also questioned one of his former teammates toughness. Kind of blows my mind seeing how that team hasn't lost a game in like three years

Because what people question about a player/team has no effect on that team's actual performance. Perception vs Reality.

After watching his TV show, I get the feeling that he wanted to follow NF and AJ to ND. There were two occasions where he named ND first and I only saw two episodes. I'm sure his early offer was effectively pulled when ESB went the silent route but I still would have went after him. Having Snoop in the crowd would not have hurt ND's image with future recruits one bit.

I know they are more than set at the WR position but I'm a marketing guy... it would have been a win - win in the long run.

Even if Snoop had on his SC drawls under his ND hoodie during the game.

.

I disagree. He has been UCLA (along with Snoop) ever since Snoop has his youth league at UCLA. Snoops antics of him wanting his son to go to USC was a mere side show. USC stopped recruiting him and yet Snoop to this day says his son chose UCLA over USC when they didn't even want him. Don't believe the hype.

Some people believed Snoop being at ND games would be bad for our image and didn't want his son here for that reason. I say poppycock. Bring the Snoop D-O double G to South Bend.

I agree I think the attention would have been a plus for recruiting, but I also think that Broadus is one of the most overrated and certainly over-hyped recruits of all time.

Just a thought but, how many of these kids coming up through the pipeline now actually know who Snoop is? I mean, of course we all do but every year these kids get further away from the real Snoop.

I find it hilarious that people think he spurned USC like he had a choice.

It would have been awesome to have Snoop at games. I don't get the problem with that.

For me, it's not the bad publicity or the good publicity of having a controversial superstar (that many recruits would absolutely love). I would have no problem with him in that sense.

My worry would be that when things go wrong, or his son doesn't start/play, he'd be a very LOUD critic of the team/coach. Yeah, he'd rip his son, but if he thought his son was getting screwed, or if he thought the coaching staff was messing up (he thinks he knows the game inside and out), he'd have no problem letting her rip. He is not one to bite his tongue.

And since his son, while seeming like a really good kid, isn't a difference maker IMHO, I can understand why many schools backed off, ND included (I think for talent reasons, but maybe there was more to it).

The coaches sniffed this one out. Props to them for making a good call, we give them grief for "turning kids away" but this was a great move on their part.

Well, it's not like Cordell was going to be seeing the ball that much anyway. I mean, as soon as Chris Clark recovers from mono he's going to go for 2000 yards as a TE.

What a waste of talent!

What talent? :)

Kidding aside, I can't believe this guy was a mid-to-high 4 star and top 100 player at one point. Just a joke how lazy services are sometimes.

With my drive to succeed and his talent God could of made one hell of a football player!

I think we dodged a bullet here. I remember wanting him way back when. maybe i thought it would be cool to have the "all-celebrity" team. Not sure how that would have translated to winning ballgames but cool nonetheless. PHEW!

Same here. I thought it would be good for recruiting, didn't think he'd play much but seems like a good enough kid, just didn't have any fire.

Would have been interesting to see how Snoop would've reacted to being demoted to second string Dad. He'd have been no better than the opening act for Bon Jovi every Saturday night. OR maybe he's used to it? I forgot he's been mowing Fertitta's grass the past 2 seasons.

*** I just reread the story about Snoop. Apparently he wasn't cutting the grass. I'll see myself out.

Well, that didn't last. Glad we didn't end up getting him.

Anyone thinking daddy made his life pretty easy and when he finally had to give some effort he didn't know the meaning of work?
