ESB is basically the only WR we're recruiting right now. Very similar to Sosos situation we're waiting until he either commits or we feel we're out. Setting up Cager/Broadus and Busey/Brossette as other possibilities if it doesn't work in our favor.

I'd take Cager or Brosette or Busey if they want on board. Can't be turning athletes like that down.

Mentioned he talks to LSU, ASU, Arizona, UCLA, and ND a lot. His words, "USC, I don't really communicate." Will be at ASU this week when they host Utah. Wants to official to Baylor. Said his family is originally from Louisiana and Mississippi so he wants to visit LSU. Said he'd love to be a part of that one day in regards to ND.

Scout: Had a great visit to ASU and they are a contender. Considering visiting Oregon State, UWV, and TCU after his season is over.

Post Game observations:
Coach didn't abandon the run game, loves to run between the tackles
Loves the screens in the flat
Didn't needlessly go for 2
Clock management was really good
Snoop has sick Tricycle, love the flatscreen

Snoop Dogg -- My Son Hasn't Picked College Yet ... But USC Hurt Its Chances | TMZ.com

Snoop tells TMZ Sports ... his high school superstar son has NOT decided on where he's gonna play his college football -- but USC hurt its chances after the way the Trojans played against UCLA.

"He'll make his decision ... but like I'll say that loss right there gon' hurt. Because nobody wanna go to no school that can't beat their rivals."

Snoop's son Cordell Broadus is one of the best wide receivers in the country -- and has reportedly been recruited by some huge programs ... including Notre Dame, LSU and ASU.

Good thing ND beat Meatchicken and Stanford. Dodged a bullet there.

He has been UCLA for a while ever since Snoop hosts his youth league there. I assume all of this is a flare for dramatics because he is not going to USC.

Nico told Sampson that we're basically done recruiting Cordell. Cordell wasn't a part of the tour that Sampson took but he did spot him wearing some ASU gear. It seems like an ASU/UCLA battle.

Yeah, getting blasted by the school that he said couldn't beat their rivals, USC that is, probably didn't help.

Saw him play in person and on tv twice. Wasn't very impressive at all.

If you told me to take Broadus over anyone in the Sanders, Guyton, Boykin and Cager / St. Brown haul I'd say no thanks everytime. Let's not forget Brent and Holmes are on the bench, every WR returns next year AND D Daniels is a definite maybe to return.

It almost gets to the point of who cares. I'd rather see the spot go to another DT, DB, MLB or RB.

Well, I think ideally its Ron Jones/Soso, Edwards/Buncom(S), Alize Jones, and Ross. Thats how I'd like to finish. No need for another WR if we're bringing in 3 and 1 TE. With that said I've always liked ESB/Cager, we just really need some big time DB's and I think Ross is just that.

Have they pulled the Broadus / Cager / ESB offers? My response was comparing Broadus to Cager or ESB as the 4th WR option of this class. I actually hope they did though something tells me Cager is going to be a good one.

I hope Jones joins the team too... along with Jamabo. I always like DB's but I was told by a local OC coach that Ross isn't the same class as other locals like Juju Smith, Max Redfield, Biggie Marshall or Marvell Tell. He also plays against very average competition compared to the rest of the guys mentioned. Time for the IE disclaimer: That's just from a coach who's scouted them, not my opinion. I didn't see him play.

I don't know anything about Buncom other than 247/Rivals/ESPN.

In my opinion and someone else who knows better than I. DT Joe Wicker at LB Poly is the player ND should be going after the hardest... unless there is even the slightest chance his teammate Biggie Marshall wants to head to South Bend.

I think we've been keeping in contact with Wicker (and he would be amongst the top of my board as well). It's just unlikely that we try to sign him with there being glaring holes at safety and dwindling depth at RB.

Should have clarified, I was agreeing with you in the sense that we don't need another WR. ESB/Cager seem to fall into the best available category and I think if the staff had a choice they'd take guys like Ross over ESB/Cager. They are really high on Ross and so am I.

Let me fix that spot. Pull BVG Jr's scholarship and give Dad a $75k bump. In all my years of being associated with NCAA member institutions, I have never heard a place where the coach's kids have to pay for school.

After watching his TV show, I get the feeling that he wanted to follow NF and AJ to ND. There were two occasions where he named ND first and I only saw two episodes. I'm sure his early offer was effectively pulled when ESB went the silent route but I still would have went after him. Having Snoop in the crowd would not have hurt ND's image with future recruits one bit.

I know they are more than set at the WR position but I'm a marketing guy... it would have been a win - win in the long run.

Even if Snoop had on his SC drawls under his ND hoodie during the game.

Move Cordell to safety

He would be on the sidelines with a hang nail. That is his biggest knock, no doubt the physical talent is there. People have also questioned one of his former teammates toughness. Kind of blows my mind seeing how that team hasn't lost a game in like three years
