Pumped for Deshone. Only thing I worry about for Deshone is the Browns just accepting they'll suck, then they get the #1 pick next year and draft a QB. Like what happened to Clausen in Carolina when the Panthers gave him 0 weapons, then drafted Cam Newton without really giving Clausen a chance.

Well, they'll have Kizer for a year before next year's draft. Hopefully he shows them enough talent, maturity, and work ethic that they view him as a franchise guy. I think it became clear pretty early that Clausen would never be a franchise guy. Of course, this is the Browns so anything is possible.

Congrats to Deshone. Prove them all wrong.

I am really pulling for this guy even though a Steeler fan as I grew up the the burgh area. Many people at the Blue Gold game felt the same way and expressed thoughts that he left because he was thrown under the bus. Given time this is a talented guy.

Well his career is over.

not even kidding... that is the LAST place someone who needs time behind an established QB should end up. Out of all franchises I can't think of a place more antithetical to "established QB" and "QB development".

hope I'm wrong...good luck DK.

What formerly decent free agent QBs are out there? Who could start in front of Kizer for a year or two, as well as allowing Kizer to learn? Kizer isn't going to learn behind Brock, and Kessler is still pretty young himself.

He's in a good situation. He's like the 5th or 6th guy drafted by his team, if he doesn't pan out I don't see this as a bad move or flop. No pressure on Kizer, really. It's not like he's following or replacing Elway or Montana, he can't do much worse than the men he's following.

And if he does well then he becomes a savior, no risk, high reward in my opinion.

I don't know much about the Browns, how does their QB depth look?

Kizer needs to sit and not be thrown in the fire like Quinn and Clausen were.

Good luck DK...I am ready for the Wimbush era to begin.

Would Quinn and Clausen really have done much more with their careers? I thought the general consensus has always been that these guys were destined for backup roles.

Browns depth chart includes Brock Osweiler, Cody Kessler and Kevin Hogan. Conflicting rumor are out there on whether Osweiler will be cut/traded. Ideally he would start with Kizer backing him and Kessler up.

Yes, I suppose that is true. However, it seems like the expectations were quickly dropped after their early respective performances in the NFL. I just wonder how much the nurturing would have actually helped. I watched some pretty terrible games with Clausen (and Quinn also) at the helm. Many people (who know more than I) say that they were given the short end of the stick, but nearly everytime I watched these two, they manifested so very little on the field. Hope Kizer can break the spell.

Wow! Everybody have a blessed day.

Me, I am going to pick up my thirteen year old from an overnight with her old best friend. We used to be neigbors, (with Nate Washington, Jr.) living between us.

Point is her dad is a life-long Michigan and Clowns fan! This should be good. Wish I had a dollar for every time he pointed to how BK screwed up the hometown hero as his way to bitch about ND. Used to call him my bitch-again.

Today should be entertaining. Just like this thread. Hell, just like this site!

Hi-ho Silver!
