To each their own, I suppose.

He ain't a choirboy, I'll admit. But one thing a team would never have to worry about is him being soft. At the end of the day, I'll take an edgy, tough kid with loads of talent at the most important position on the field with a sixth round pick.

And I'd take someone who makes good decisions on and off the field with that same pick if he were available haha.

But yes, to each Imaginary GM their own.

I'd take him too. Would be a steal in the 6th round. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see the Bills draft him.

Didn't Kelly get kicked off the Clemson team...in the middle of the spring game? And Dabo may be the biggest players' coach out there in college.

Throw in the accurate portrayal of what happened at a high school game 6 months ago, the bar incident, and his penchant for chasing porn actresses (and getting trolled by them), and it's clear he obviously makes bad decisions, ya know, the total opposite of what you want from your QB and leader.

But hey, I've never learned anything either from the giant red flags waived at jamarcus russel, johnnie manziel, pacman jones, randy gregory, etc., etc.

Just a day after I say that Kizer needed another year of college ball, Kiper mocks him to Pittsburgh at #30. Go figure :)

6th round? If he's a 3rd round or later pick I'd be surprised.

Just had a talk with a buddy of mine who's a Steelers fan and he'd be pumped with the Steelers selecting him, and he's read all the anonymous source nonsense. But at pick 62 instead of 30. Or using 62 to trade up into the 50s to snag him.

Anyone got final bets on when he gets drafted? I'm going to say 45th pick.

Feels about right, honestly. Or a 33 to 40-ish team moving up into the late 1st to grab him. It's going to be awful if him and Kelly sit there all day tomorrow night.

Caught some heat way back in this thread for pulling back hard on Kizer being the #1 pick and going ahead of Watson. Anything could still happen but Watson looks to be safely ahead of Kizer now. After their respective seasons, seems right. Although, not sure either will be good pros.

I'm not sure any of the qb's in this draft will be good pros.

I wouldn't be upset with this, obviously both ILB and OLB are bigger needs and maybe a DB but I'd be surprised if they don't draft a QB in the top 4 rounds with the other realistic options being Kaaya and Dobbs. Letting Kizer learn behind Big Ben for a few years would be good too, obviously I'd prefer if he fell to the Steelers in the second but I doubt that happens.

They are in a "win now" mode. Kizer does not help them win for at least 2-3 years. Draft an edge rusher, db, or offensive weapon to help get that 7th ring. Plus, the 2018 draft will be the way to go to get a QB; the 2018 quarterback draft class is deeeeep.

Mahomes or DK will be a first round pick but probably not both. It really depends on which guy a team prefers.

He could help them when Ben goes down again, which is probably inevitable at this point. I think there is not much of a difference in the quality of db or edge rusher they get in the second round vs their first round pick. It's a deep draft for both.

It has more to do with me now thinking he's worth a first round pick. I feel that way for every team, not just mine. If he's there in the second, then yeah I'll take him. And I don't agree that you can get the same quality of db in the second vs. the first. If that was the case, trade out of the 1st round. I can't find a guy in the late second round like Budda Baker, TJ Watt, Jabrill Peppers, Tre White, Chidobie Owuzie, etc.

The reason why I think Deshone is even being considered by teams in the 1st round is because of his size and upside, not his stats. His record as a starting QB sucked, I wouldn't consider him clutch, and he didn't perform well against good teams. In fact, if he was 3 inches shorter and 20 pound lighter then I doubt he's not drafted until the 4th or 5th. Upside is what he has going for him, but if a team is using a first round pick purely on upside then they are just asking for a lot of trouble.

The thing is that you need a trade partner to trade down. It's not as easy as one would think. The reality is that if they wanted to get a QB and a DB in the first two rounds, then it would make sense to grab Kizer with 30 and there will still be a ton of talented DB's left at 62. What there wont be is any of the top QB prospects.

I love this part of life where an ND signal caller drops in the draft after initial hype has them as a top 10 lock. Brady and Jimmy will be nodding in appreciation later today unless there is some ridiculous run on QBs early. I don't see the bottom of the first round picking a QB - as stated earlier they are looking to win now and will want immediate impact out of the first few rounds. Having a hard time coming up with a first round scenario but it only takes one team to fall in love.

Legendary scout Gil Brandt likes Kizer, but thinks he needs to go to a good team, just like Lax said. Kizer on the Cards paired with Arians would be dynamite. The Steelers with Haley would be pretty good too.

People are going to regret passing on him.

I agree. Didn't feel that way about Clausen or Quinn. Kizer however I think will be pretty damn good in the league. Pittsburgh, IMO, would be an ideal fit. Really wish the Dolphins would take him but that isn't happening.

Gil Bradt is the god father of scouting and the combine!

People are going to regret passing on him.

100% agree. Get him in on an Aaron Rodgers situation.
