Charger !!!
Charges love themselves some ND players.
Chargers 90-in-90: LB Drue Tranquill
Should he not make their 53 man roster, I'd pick him up. He's listed as third string on the Chargers just released depth chart - but then so is Tillery.
Big night for him, 5 Tackles and 1 Interception
Happy for Drew and hope he makes the roster. Now don't kill me. Drew was in good position, but that INT was all QB. Where the heck did that form come from? Dude is starting to go fetal position before he throws the ball.
Tranquill’s 75 tackles ranked second on the entire team, behind only Thomas Davis. That’s not too shabby for a guy who was on the field just over one-third of the time. But the Chargers also like to switch things up at the linebacker position.
Tranquill actually ended up having more total defensive snaps than Uchenna Nwosu, Denzel Perryman, Kyzir White and Jatavis Brown. One has to wonder what kind of impact Tranquill might have if he is on the field more often.
That is a decision the Chargers will have to weigh this offseason, but it’s also likely they are happy with him in the same role as well.

Athleticism like Tranquill displayed at the 2019 NFL Combine (4.57 second 40-yard dash, 6.94 second three-cone and a 37.5-inch vertical jump) married with strong coverage results coming out of college (80-plus coverage grades in each of his last two seasons) is a recipe for success in the pros. As a fourth-round pick, Tranquill had a limited role in his first season as a member of the Chargers’ defense, but he did some promising things during his time on the field, earning a 66.6 overall grade for the year. Even with the Chargers trading back up into the first round to take Kenneth Murray, there is plenty of reason to expect the second-year player out of Notre Dame to take another step forward in 2020.
Getting carted off the field with a leg/knee injury. Doesn’t look good.
